She never expected it
to end this way.
It was not that she ever liked detective series but this one was different.
If the police are corrupt, and easy to please, it's true there's a way out even for me.
She hadn't any clue, just like the man beaten up in the tunnel, how her story would end but she would finish that neverending hallway.
I won't even consider that, she thought, answering all those questions as a killer. Why not pull that trigger and end this once and for all?
I wish I was asked to make a deal, and could sign the contract to finally, be free.
Such a boring scene. How come it was no tradition to defend oneself? She switched the channel and watched for a minute or two how the predator attacked. Animal life was so much easier.
It was the key in the lock next door that startled her and she switched channels again, The commercials were extremely boring plus she had no money to spend. The time always passed by so slowly. She hated to wait.
The knock on the door remained unanswered and forced the couple to go inside.
No warrant is needed if you claim to work for the right side, not even for a cop who can't be trusted, the brutal ones conquer and always win the battle.
She stood with her eyes closed and seemed to enjoy the bee beard that grew and got taller and taller. Why should she worry about what might come?
It helps fight the pain, she answered the burning question, give me some minutes to get them out.
She was aware she had lost the fight, but that didn't mean it was the end of the empire. She smiled and got dressed. All she longed for was a well-deserved rest, to slip into infinity.

Quietly she left her home. It wouldn't take long before the car arrived.
Three sets of clothes underneath her winter jacket, a small backpack and a paper bag were all her belongings after a life of sacrifice.
It was warm outside but all she cared about was the gun in her hand, ready to use it, to defend herself. No way she would ever go back again.
