Hello beautiful people of hive! It's another beautiful month. I'm glad we're all alive and well to experience the great things August has in store for us!
For this week's topic, we have Chaos.
Prompt: “Chaos”
Image generated using AI
Chaos is loud. It's tangled thoughts, shattered plans, sudden storms: internal or external. For this prompt, dive into a moment of chaos in your life, your mind, or the world around you.
- What did it look or feel like? Messy room, racing heart, shouting voices, flashing lights? Or something quieter, but no less overwhelming?
- What caused it? A decision, a disaster, an emotion, a slow buildup that finally cracked?
- How did you respond? Did you fight it, freeze, fall apart, or find something unexpected within it?
- What came after? Stillness? Ruin? Clarity? Or a different kind of order?
Bonus challenge: Let your structure mirror the chaos; fragmented lines, shifting rhythms, tangled images that eventually (or never) resolve.
Let your poem move like a storm: unpredictable, raw, and real. Let the reader feel the unraveling… and maybe the rebuilding.
