Trainwreck

It was the last bit of faith
disguised as a hundred dollar bill
and he took it at face value
because he couldn't see
its worth

the thing is -
talk is cheap,
actions speak louder than words
and you gotta take a hit
for the truth to be revealed sometimes

but there comes a time
when it doesn't hurt much anymore
because a numbness seeped in
as you watched the last train wreck come steamin'
down the wrong side of the tracks

and you weren't afraid enough
to bother gettin' out of the way anymore

committed
to the experience
defiantly
curious
to the bitter end.
