This morning, I had a very simple breakfast — but it’s one of my all-time favorites. It brought me straight back home, to the Philippines. On my plate were fried eggs with crispy edges, some dried fish, and fried rice. I also mixed in a bit of leftover adobo from last night and added some grated carrots. That’s how we used to do it when I was younger — just mixing what we had, and it always tasted so good. Compared to the normal sinangag rice in the Philippines, this is like a little “fancy.” Sometimes, just the simple food that brings the most comforting feeling. My kids also like the Filipino-style food, and they really enjoy the breakfast, too. The smell of dried fish and fried egg—it brought all those memories rushing back. It’s more than just food… It’s a piece of my heart. I also have my coffee as usual, which I always look forward.
After breakfast, I bring my coffee to our balcony. I was just standing there, slowly drinking, looking at the view. The air was fresh, and everything outside was starting to get busy. But at that moment, And I’ am also grateful for every small thing in life, like a warm meal, a cup of coffee, and a quiet start of the day. Maybe my breakfast looks plain to others, but for me, it means a lot. It feels like home. It feels like love and comfort. I just wanted to share this very humble morning with you. I hope you also find happiness in your small moments, too. They matter more than we think. This is how my contented heart💛 any simple thing or food, I have, I really appreciate with all my heart. Life is to short to rush every day chasing some materials. And we don’t recognize simple way of life that could make us contented.
