Looking at it from the outside, one might think that after so long of being on the road and moving from one place to another, goodbyes tend to be a little easier, but this is quite the opposite. Every goodbye ends up being unique and emotional, unless you are leaving a place where you are having a hard time, but luckily this is not my case. From September until now I met a lot of people, both travelers passing through and co-workers with whom I lived for a long time, and whenever I have to say goodbye to start again in another place I can't help but feel a little nostalgic. But I don't want to lose my main goal of getting to know a little bit of each place, so in the end it always ends up being a small internal struggle to get out of my comfort zone, which I end up winning with a few tears shed 😅.
Viéndolo desde afuera, uno podría pensar que después de tanto tiempo de estar de viaje y moviéndote de un lado a otro las despedidas suelen ser un poco más fáciles, pero esto es todo lo contrario. Cada despedida termina siendo única y emocional, a menos que te estés yendo de un lugar en donde la estés pasando mal, pero por suerte este no es mi caso. Desde Septiembre hasta ahora conocí a un montón de personas, tanto viajeros de paso como compañeros de trabajo con los que conviví bastante tiempo, y siempre que me tengo que despedir para empezar de nuevo en otro lugar no puedo evitar sentir algo de nostalgia. Pero es que tampoco quiero que se pierda mi objetivo principal de ir conociendo un poco de cada lugar, así que al fin siempre termina siendo una pequeña lucha interna por salir de mi zona de confort, la cual termino ganando con algunas lagrimitas derramadas 😅.
In these last few months there was a lot of time when I decided to enjoy the moments and real life without having to spend hours and hours in front of the computer every day. This directly impacted my blog, because not being able to keep up with my daily writing routine like I had at home, travel content started to fall behind and fall behind. This doesn't really bother me that much because seeing pictures of the places I visited a while ago makes me feel good and it's a nice way to remember the trips I took, but every now and then I feel like writing about what's happening to me in real time, like this move just right now. At the same time, it serves as a kind of internal relief, since writing is one of the therapies I like the most 💕.
En estos últimos meses hubo bastante tiempo en el que decidí disfrutar de los momentos y la vida real sin tener que pasar horas y horas frente a la computadora todos los días. Esto impactó directamente en mi blog, porque al no poder cumplir con mi rutina de escritura diaria como la que tenía en mi casa, el contenido de los viajes se me empezó a atrasar y atrasar. Esto en realidad no me molesta tanto porque ver las fotos de los lugares que visité hace un tiempo me hace sentir bien y es una linda forma de recordar los paseos que hice, pero cada tanto me dan ganas de escribir sobre lo que me está pasando en tiempo real, como esta mudanza justo ahora. Al mismo tiempo, sirve como una especie de desahogo interno, ya que la escritura es una de las terapias que más me gusta 💕.
These last two months I chose to be working in the same hostel in exchange for the accommodation because the atmosphere I found was very good. Our work team consisted of 4 women and 3 men with whom we divided the work shifts to carry out the whole operation of the hostel. Although the owners of the place showed up regularly, the truth is that almost everything was managed as we liked, and we were even in charge of the cashier's accounts and of collecting the guests' stays. The trust in us was total and that made us all feel comfortable. Besides, we got along very well with each other and in these two months we formed what we call "a family" with which I generated many good memories ❣️.
Estos últimos dos meses elegí estar trabajando en el mismo hostel a cambio del alojamiento porque el ambiente con el que me encontré fue muy bueno. Nuestro equipo de trabajo estuvo conformado por 4 mujeres y 3 varones con los cuales nos repartíamos los turnos de trabajo para llevar adelante todo el funcionamiento del hostel. Si bien los dueños del lugar aparecían regularmente, lo cierto es que casi todo estaba manejado a nuestro gusto, e incluso nos hacíamos cargo de las cuentas de la caja y de cobrar las estadías de los huéspedes. La confianza en nosotros fue total y eso nos hizo sentir cómodos a todos. Además, entre nosotros nos llevamos muy bien y en estos dos meses formamos lo que autodenominamos "una familia" con la que generé muchos buenos recuerdos ❣️.
Taking advantage of my days off, I went for a long walk in the nearby mountains. On those hikes I also met more people: people on vacation but also other residents of this town. After so much time, this place has become my home: I already know all its dynamics, its businesses, its streets, its landscapes and the hostel has become like my home, where I can live without feeling like a stranger. Everything is perfect here and I got used to life like this, but two months seemed enough time to explore this place and little by little I started to feel that it was time to visit somewhere new. With this idea in mind, I started looking for a job under the same modality of exchange for accommodation, and I got it about 200 km away from here, much faster than I expected: in a week I had to move to take up my new position 😶.
Aprovechando mis días libres, salí a caminar un montón entre las montañas que tenemos cerca. En esas travesías también conocí a más personas: gente de vacaciones pero también otros residentes de este pueblo. Después de tanto tiempo, este lugar supo transformarse en mi hogar: ya conozco toda su dinámica, sus negocios, sus calles, sus paisajes y el hostel se volvió como mi casa, en la que puedo habitar sin sentirme una extraña. Todo es perfecto acá y ya me acostumbré a la vida así, pero dos meses me parecieron tiempo suficiente para explorar este lugar y poco a poco empecé a sentir que ya era tiempo de ir a visitar algún sitio nuevo. Con esta idea, me ocupé de buscar trabajo bajo la misma modalidad de intercambio por alojamiento, y lo conseguí a unos 200 km de acá, mucho más rápido de lo que esperaba: en una semana tenía que mudarme para ir a ocupar mi nuevo puesto 😶.
Honestly, I didn't think I was going to get a new opportunity so quickly, so this last week was very emotional for me. No one understood why I was leaving if everything was fine, but they were happy that I was about to go to a new and beautiful place like this. If there is one thing I worked on a lot in the last few months, it was detachment, both from material things and from people. I am very clear that I started this trip alone and that I manage the times by myself, so I can do whatever I want to make this trip the way I like it, even if that means having to constantly move away from people I'm getting fond of. I guess this is all part of this nomadic life, and for now, I'm enjoying the experience ❤️.
Honestamente, no pensaba en que iba a conseguir una nueva oportunidad tan rápido, así que esta última semana fue muy emocional para mí. Nadie entendía por qué me iba si estaba todo bien, pero se alegraron de qué me estuviera por ir a un lugar nuevo y también hermoso como este. Si hay algo que trabajé bastante en estos últimos meses fue el desapego, tanto de lo material como de las personas. Yo tengo bien en claro que este viaje lo empecé sola y que los tiempos los manejo yo misma, así que puedo hacer lo que quiera para que este paseo sea como me gusta, aunque eso implique tener que alejarme constantemente de personas a las que les voy tomando cariño. Supongo que todo esto es parte de esta vida nómade, y por ahora, voy disfrutando la experiencia ❤️.
What I like most about this is that in all the places where I have been I have been well received and I leave with open doors. That makes me feel good and that I'm doing my job well. In one hostel I was in, one of the owners gave me the advice that "I should always strive for excellence in whatever I do" and that resonated in my head. At this point in my life I choose to be walking and working at this and I want to be seen to be enjoying the meantime. Now I'm excited about what things will be waiting for me in my new destination, and I only hope they will be as good or better than what I have experienced so far ❤️.
Lo que más me gusta de esto es que en todos los lugares en los que estuve fui bien recibida y me voy con las puertas abiertas. Eso me hace sentir bien y que estoy haciendo bien mi trabajo. En un hostel en el que estuve uno de los dueños me dió el consejo de que "siempre tengo que aspirar a la excelencia en cualquier cosa que haga" y eso quedó resonando bastante en mi cabeza. En este momento de mi vida elijo estar paseando y trabajando de esto y quiero que se note que disfruto el mientras tanto. Ahora estoy emocionada por qué cosas me esperaran en mi nuevo destino, y solo espero que sean igual o mejores que las que viví hasta ahora ❤️.
