Hi all, I had this idea several days ago working for a real estate client to build the interface for his home automation system.
The work didn't actually fit with the client who refused it, but still i've done it with passion and would enjoy to be able to use my creation in my own house.
It is actually a neumorphic interface, last generation material design, 
I was Duckduckgoing (privacy friendly web search) to search which interfaces were used the most with raspberry PI for home automation and i found one i liked a lot
The only real lack in that project is the smart locker which seems easy to implement given the number of project you can find in that sense in the hackster raspberry pi pages.
Given that base i have the project i've done for my client here, but i really would enjoy to implement that neumorphic UX (without the 3D room selector that was based on the client's technology) and the DIY smart locker into the raspberry open source home automation repo created by the mozilla guy, it would help myself first to automate the entry for Airbnb guests coming home and reduce the risk related to physical contact in these hard pandemic times, i saw your contest shared in my hive community, and i don't usually speak of geek things here, i share my artwork but would like to take advantage of your tokens to be able to work on this automation interface for my house.
When I'll finish the project i would share it on this community with all details, costs and timing.
Publishing it, and creating an hardware kit to build it with ease would be a great gift to many airbnb hosts like me that need some help in managing the house and cleaning processes in these times!
But after winning your contest i would just try to build it for myself and then share here my result, using what i'll be sharing to build the kit and sell it with the interface would definitely be up to you guys , but it may help your community thrive, maybe just letting you powerup with the earnings.
As a product designer i would give my idea gladly to your community, aware that the airbnb real life community really needs operations like these at this time, people who don't care that much about the profit, but about the impact they can have on that society's parts that are in need.
