String theory math is quite compellingly beautiful, like a tapestry of physical potential. However, as it has been frequently observed, these maths can be pursued to basically show any possibility, and have no actual basis in physics that can be supported experimentally.
It seems to be more an aesthetic pursuit than a utilitarian beauty, in which form follows function. In String Theory the opposite approach rules. Bubbles of nothing, like simulation theory, have incessantly arisen from these maths, which just can't be tested and result in understanding of the real universe. It's basically poetry that has no meaning.
I recently watched a video of a Google talk in which the narrator claimed to prove mathematically the universe doesn't exist. IMHO, string theory is the conspiracy theory of maths.
