This solar panel charger arrived 15 days ago (on 2023.06.13). My left arm was injured, so this is why I have not tried this solar panel charger so far. My left arm is still healing, but now it is much better, so I was able to try this.
I tried to charge the battety of my smartphone (Motorola Moto G22) with it. This smartphone has a 5000 mAh battery, which is around the average (maybe a little bit above the average) smartphone battery capacity nowadays.
The charging works. At first I tried it in the shadows and in scattered sunshine. It does not work in these conditions. My smartphone indicates that the battery is being charged, but actually it is not. The solar panel does not charge the battery of my smartphone in the shadows, nor in scattered sunshine. It cannot even maintain the charging level.
So it needs direct sunshine to charge the battery.
This is how the front side of the solar panel looks still in the folie after I took it out of the package.
The backside with various connectors.
The backside after I removed the folie.
The front of the solar panel in scattered sunshine.
According to the box, the standard test condition is 25 °C. I made this test in 23 °C.
The battery is at 39% at 13:34.
The battery is at 40% at 14:08 (screenshot taken at 14:09). I moved with the solar panel to direct sunshine somewhere around 13:56. So It took around 12 minutes for the solar panel to charge 1%.
So this solar panel charger is not so effective to charge the battery of a smartphone, but it works. Good, when/where the traditional electricity is not available.
I will certainly take this solar panel charger with myself, when I will go back to Spain, which probably will be around the middle of July. Maybe earlier. We will see.
Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.
