(Mogotes - El paso del indio)

El 1/12/24 , nos fuimos de vacaciones junto a mi marido a Córdoba, Argentina a unos 800km de Buenos Aires. Estas vacaciones se venían planificando hace un año atrás por dos motivos principales: Festejar el cumpleaños de mi cuñada que reside allí y ascender el cerro mas alto de las sierras chicas.
La primer aventura de este viaje fue ir a conocer El paso de Indio el cual, tenia fama de ser un trekking corto de tres tramos pero complicado así que fuimos a averiguarlo.
On 1/12/24, we went on vacation with my husband to Córdoba, Argentina about 800km from Buenos Aires. These vacations had been planned a year ago for two main reasons: to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday who lives there and to climb the highest mountain in the small mountain range.
The first adventure of this trip was to go visit El paso de Indio which had a reputation for being a short three-section hiking trail but challenging, so we went to check it out.

El guía nos llevo en una 4X4 apta para el terreno que íbamos a recorrer. Nos comentaba que la caminata que íbamos a realizar no era apta para todos , que el último tramo era peligroso y un poco complicado. A ancianos , gente con sobrepeso, embarazadas , personas con claustrofobia y vértigo se les iba a dificultar un poco ¿Por qué? Porque había que escalar un tramo sumamente estrecho (de 50cm aproximadamente y un poco alto)
The guide took us in a 4X4 suitable for the terrain we were going to cover. He mentioned that the hike we were going to do was not suitable for everyone, that the last stretch was dangerous and a bit complicated. Elderly people, overweight individuals, pregnant women, people with claustrophobia, and vertigo might find it a bit challenging. Why? Because it was necessary to climb a very narrow section (approximately 50cm wide and a bit high).

Este paraje, se cuenta, fue utilizado por los pueblo originarios del lugar (Los Comechingones) para escapar de los españoles. Este sitio, un desafío para los claustrofóbicos, era ideal por su dificil acceso y ¡Vaya que era dificil acceder! De las 40 personas que éramos solo 10 pudimos pasarlo y debo decir con orgullo que @chino91 y yo , fuimos dos de ellas.
This spot, it is said, was used by the native people of the place (The Comechingones) to escape from the Spanish. This site, a challenge for the claustrophobic, was ideal due to its difficult access. And was it difficult to access! Of the 40 people who were with us, only 10 were able to pass through, and I must say with pride that @chino91 and I were two of them.

Si se lo están preguntando, si, donde apuntan las flechas comenzaba el tercer tramo que les comente y si, era muy estrecho tanto que apenas se podía circular. Los guías nos dieron tips y consejos para poder hacerlo . Como dije, pocos logramos subirlo pero, paso que a una señora, al bajar le dio un ataque de pánico y nos quedamos todos trabados tratando de no caernos porque se haría efecto de bola de nieve. El guía me dio permiso de bajar para socorrerla y hacer que baje y así, logramos superar ese momento.
If you are wondering, yes, where the arrows point was the beginning of the third section that I mentioned to you, and yes, it was very narrow, so narrow that it was difficult to pass through. The guides gave us tips and advice on how to do it. As I mentioned, few of us managed to climb it, but there was a moment when a lady, while coming down, had a panic attack and we all got stuck trying not to fall because it would have a snowball effect. The guide gave me permission to go down to help her and make sure she comes down, and that way, we managed to overcome that moment.

Bueno chicos, disculpen si no hay fotos del ascenso por el pasillo estrecho pero apenas podíamos movernos allí. Yo llevaba los celulares en los bolsillos de la Byker y cuando bajamos me di cuenta que los dañe por la presión contra las paredes rocosas ¡Que no cunda el pánico! Solo fueron daños menores.
Al subir nos sentimos victoriosos. El viento estaba fuerte pero estábamos felices y maravillados con la vista. Podíamos ver los ganchos que usaban los escaladores mas arriesgados allá en lo mas alto.
Well guys, sorry for the lack of photos of the ascent up the narrow hallway but we could barely move there. I had the cell phones in the pockets of the Byker and when we descended I realized that I damaged them from the pressure against the rocky walls. Don't panic! They were just minor damages.
As we climbed up, we felt victorious. The wind was strong but we were happy and amazed by the view. We could see the hooks that the more daring climbers used up there at the very top.

Al descender, fuimos a mojar los pies al rio que estaba en el mismo predio que por cierto, la entrada cuesta 2 dólares por persona. El día nos acompaño y estuvo realmente hermoso. Disfrutamos cada momento y relajarse en aquel lugar repleto de naturaleza fue el cierre con broche de oro ¡Nos vemos en la próxima!
Descending, we went to soak our feet in the river that was on the same property where, by the way, the entrance costs 2 dollars per person. The weather was good and it was really beautiful. We enjoyed every moment and relaxing in that place full of nature was the cherry on top. See you next time!
