Esta vez me fui de viaje con mi hermana y mi cuñada hacia la finca de unos amigos, ya que estábamos un poco cansadas de nuestra vida cotidiana y queríamos tomarnos como un break de todo y decidimos esta vez no ir a la montaña, sino ir al llano.
This time, I went on a trip with my sister and sister-in-law to some friends' farm, as we were a little tired of our daily lives and wanted to take a break from everything. We decided not to go to the mountains this time, but to go to the plains instead.
Nos fuimos al llano adentro, en moto, a un lugar que se llama “Lechozote” eso queda aquí en Barinas/Venezuela. Tuvimos un recorrido en moto aproximadamente dos horas para poder llegar, ya que es bastante lejos, además en la carretera estaba un poco complicado el acceso, esta carretera es de piedra y estaba muy suelta. Como es de costumbre nos llovió en el camino jaja, así que bueno durante en recorrido pudimos ver como se acercaba la tormenta, hasta vimos varios rayos.
We went inland on motorcycles to a place called “Lechozote,” which is here in Barinas, Venezuela. It took us about two hours to get there by motorcycle, as it is quite far away, and the road was a bit difficult to access, as it is a stone road and was very loose. As usual, it rained on the way, haha, so during the trip we could see the storm approaching, and we even saw several lightning bolts.
En este viaje, también llevamos a la mascota de mi hermana, un perrito que se llama Orión. Eso fue ya hace algún tiempo, ya ahorita ese perrito, está supergrande, ya es todo un adolescente, diría yo. Al llegar a la finca, los muchachos nos recibieron, nos mostraron los alrededores, sus animales y lo que hacían día a día.
On this trip, we also took my sister's pet, a little dog named Orion. That was some time ago, and now that little dog is huge, a teenager, I would say. When we arrived at the farm, the boys welcomed us, showed us around, introduced us to their animals, and told us about their daily activities.
Ese día al llegar también aproveché para montar caballo, ya que tenía muchísimo tiempo sin hacerlo bueno, no sé ustedes, pero, montar caballo me relaja de alguna manera y aproveché la oportunidad para intentarlo nuevamente.
That day, when I arrived, I also took the opportunity to go horseback riding, since I hadn't done it in a long time. I don't know about you, but horseback riding relaxes me somehow, so I took the opportunity to try it again.
El muchacho de la finca, amigo de mi hermana, tiene como una rutina diaria en el campo, así que iba a caballo y decidí acompañarlo para poder distraerme y aprovechar, así que fuimos de camino alrededor de la finca a los molinos a revisar las cercas, los animales; la verdad fue bastante entretenido.
The farm boy, my sister's friend, has a daily routine in the countryside, so he went horseback riding and I decided to accompany him to distract myself and make the most of it. So we rode around the farm to the mills to check the fences and the animals; it was actually quite entertaining.
Ya por la tarde, al terminar de arrear el ganado, vimos el atardecer, nos sentamos en el establo, como le decimos acá “la vaquera” y allí estuvimos hablando un rato mientras caía la noche.
In the afternoon, after finishing herding the cattle, we watched the sunset, sat down in the barn, which we call “la vaquera” here, and talked for a while as night fell.
Ya en la noche se hizo una parrilla, compartimos con los muchachos, bebimos algo, también jugamos uno. Nosotros decidimos acampar en el llano, ya que nunca lo habíamos hecho. Ya verán algunas fotillos por ahí.
In the evening, we had a barbecue, hung out with the guys, had a few drinks, and played a game. We decided to camp on the plain, since we had never done that before. You'll see some photos of it here and there.
El otro día por la mañana nos levantamos temprano para poder ver el amanecer, por supuesto que no nos podíamos perder, así como también aprovechamos para acompañar a los muchachos que iban a hacer sus labores del campo rutinarias.
The other day we got up early in the morning to watch the sunrise, which we couldn't miss, of course, and we also took the opportunity to accompany the boys who were going to do their routine farm work.
Algo que hacen a diario es ordeñar, esto lo hacen tempranito a partir de las cinco y media de la mañana, duran como hasta las 7 am haciendo esa labor y bueno mi hermana aprovechó de ordeñar una vaca, ya que no lo había hecho antes.
Something they do every day is milking, which they do early in the morning starting at 5:30 a.m. They continue until around 7 a.m., and my sister took advantage of the opportunity to milk a cow, since she had never done it before.
Yo no me atreví a ordeñar porque, la verdad, me da un poco miedo las vacas, he tenido malas experiencias con ellas así que preferí verlas desde lejos y ver el paisaje por la mañana, lo que sí hice fue darle de tetero de leche de vaca a los chivos bebes que hay ahí en la granja y también hicimos el desayuno temprano por la mañana nuestra arepita con el café por supuesto que no puede faltar.
I didn't dare to milk them because, to be honest, I'm a little afraid of cows. I've had bad experiences with them, so I preferred to watch them from afar and enjoy the morning scenery. What I did do was feed cow's milk to the baby goats on the farm, and we also had an early breakfast of arepas and coffee, which is a must, of course.
Este viaje fue diferente, pero no le quita lo especial… Y a ustedes, ¿Les gusta montar a caballo?
