Today I will tell you about the city garden in the city of Odesa. This garden has existed for almost 200 years and a huge number of people walked through it. But now my attention fell on the monument "Odesa Time", which also has a rather interesting story.
So, in 2007, a hurricane destroyed the local tree of love (that is, a very old tree on which residents wrote their names). After that, the local authorities tried to plant different types of trees in this place, however, none of them took root in this place.
It is because of this fact that in this place, which was very popular with all residents, the local authorities decided to create a new interesting place for residents. This is how the composition "Odesa Time" appeared. This monument is a kind of Big Ben. The sculpture is located around a two-meter clock, which shows the most accurate time in any weather.
Around the clock on which a small bird sits, you can see ordinary local residents of the city - people just dancing, a boy with a violin, as well as cats and dogs. Yes, all these characters are ordinary residents of the city and every evening in the city garden you can see couples dancing on a special podium, you can hear street musicians, and also feed street animals - cats and dogs.
In general, Odesa is a city of cats, and quite a few monuments are dedicated to them, which I will talk about in the future.
And this sculpture personifies exactly Odesans who have either been living here since birth or moved to this city a long time ago, like me. By the way, the clock shows the exact time, even today, during a full-scale war.
Another fact, the sculptures are located on the site where there are 12 confessions of love for Odesa by famous people - Zhvanetsky, Vysotsky, Paustovsky, Golubenko, Pushkin and others. It is written in various travel magazines that you can turn the platform itself and hear Odesa melodies, but I did not do this personally.
The architect who created this sculpture is Mykhailo Reva, and the opening of this place took place on October 22, 2015.
The sculpture is located in the city of Odessa, in the City Garden, located on Deribasovskaya Street.
