Maybe we just get more sensitive as we age, but I just haven't been able to ignore what feels like a trend, which is that people seem to be less and less kind to each other.
Please note that I am not saying that people are being mean; just that they are being less kind.
More than anything, this lack of kindness seems to be somewhat related to the fact that we all seem to be getting busier and busier as time passes, and maybe we feel too rushed to pause and engage in "random acts of kindness."
Kindness matters!
Maybe that sounds like a cliché, but consider what happens to your own mood when you're going about your daily routine, and suddenly someone does something really nice for you, without provocation or reason. Just because...
My husband and I both tend to be "kind people," for lack of a better way of putting it.
He says he has noticed the same trend mostly by the fact that regular people seem to be getting more and more suspicious of kindly acts.
"Why are you doing this nice thing for me? You must WANT something!" seems to be an increasingly common reaction.
All we generally "want" is just to be of service and do something nice for a fellow human being!
