Hey Hivers,
As i was scrolling down my mobile phone gallery i saw the pictures of my memorable visit to AMRISTSAR PUNJAB where i went to see WAGAH BORDER -ATTARI ,GOLDEN TEMPLE AMRISTSAR and JALLIAN WALA BAGH. It was my 1st year of Graduation when i went there. So i thought of sharing pleasant experience with you guys.
So me and my friend started our journey at around 8:30 from KHARAR in the morning and we reached AMRITSAR at 2:00 in the afternoon. So we planned our trip in such a way that we have to return back with in 2 days and attend our college classes😅.
We aimed to see all these three places which had a remarkable history. I had earlier heard a lot of stories about these places from my parents as well as from my teachers.
So our first destination to go was WAGAH-ATTARI BORDER [//]:# (!pinmapple 31.599146 lat 74.604410 long d3scr)
ATTARI border is about 45km from AMRITSAR BUS-STAND. So we took a bus from there to ATTARI ( which basically is a small village ). It took us about 1.25 hours to reach ATTARI .
It is a place of NATIONAL SECURITY so everything had to be in a proper manner there ,and all the security checking's procedure is done as we step downed in ATTARI .
We are not allowed to take anything inside the ARMY PREMICIES except mobile phone . Also all the signals are blocked there . The main WAGAH BORDER place is about 1.5km from ATTARI bus stop .
Army officials are at every 10-15 feet checking if things are all good or not.
WAGAH-ATTARI BORDER has a significant history and story starting after Independence in 1947.People from all parts of INDIA comes here to visit and see the WAGAH BORDER CEREMONY .
WAGAH BORDER CEREMONY in itself is a very huge thing. Basically it is a military exercise which is carried daily by ARMY OFFICILAS (BSF from INDIA ) and (PR from PAKISTAN).
It is done daily from both the side and have been jointly done by both side since 1959 . Hundreds of people daily come here to see this high intense parade ceremony which easily can give you goosebumps .
People come here and show their love for their country by chanting their country name and cheer for their country success and pride. The atmosphere there is very electrifying .
Different form of dance ,cultural activities are seen till the ceremony starts . One man leading all the hundred's of people gathered there.
CEREMONY starts with the parade on both the sides. After that high ranked ARMY official takes their place and 2 other officials guard the door from our side . After that certain steps and form of parade is done and after few minutes doors are opened from both the sides and flags are folded and ceremony is completed with firm handshakes from both the parties.
Army officials raise their legs as high as they can facing each other during parade , as well as touching their moustaches and giving it a round towards upside and giving a gestures in the hats to show the signs of RIVALRY they (both country) had.
All the trade are done through this road/border line with PAKISTAN. Even one bus goes through this road which is DELHI-AMRITSAR_LAHORE. LAHORE is about 25 Km from ATTARI BUS STOP.
It was a marvelous experience of visiting such a place( WAGAH BORDER ) and cheer for your COUNTRY with all the love and patriotism we have in heart for COUNTRY.
For every second i stayed there i had goosebumps all the time. So after the ceremony ended we took few pictures then started to go to another destination which was GOLDEN TEMPLE AMRITSAR.
So we again took bus from there to Amritsar. We reached back about 7:00 in the evening and just 5 min away from bus stop we had our next destination . We both then asked locals for the path to temple .
So the pathway through market leads to temple . In between we stopped in the market and took pictures saw some good monuments and statues.
GOLDEN TEMPLE AMRITSAR , [//]:# (!pinmapple 31.620433 lat 74.876257 long d3scr) is the biggest holy place for the SIKH people . It is also known as HARMANDIR SAHIB . It is located in the middle of AMRITSAR PUNJAB.
GOLDEN TEMPLE was made during 16 century by GURU RAM DAS who was the fourth GURU of SIKH. Temple is made around a man made pool .
It has a rich history . Many people tried to demolish / destroy it especially Mughals and Afghans.
People from all parts of world come here to visit HARMANDIR SAHIB. The temple is open to all and no one leave the place without food (which is called PRASADA in PUNJABI language). Many world records are held by the COMMITTEE of GOLDEN TEMPLE , most popular is that it serves food(LANGAR) to more than 1 lakh people daily.
I had always in my heart to visit HARMANDIR SAHIB and when i got in there i was amazed to see the beauty of the place . The bright shine of temple was one to see.
Some people were taking bath in the holy pool.
We then stood in the line to visit the main temple where the holy book of SIKHHISM is. It took us about 35 minutes to reach the front. So finally we stepped our foot in temple and it was moment to remember for the rest of life.
I was stunned too see the work inside the temple. We had a darshan and stayed there and worshiped , prayed for better life .
After that we went to eat LANGAR . The food was so delicious to eat. Thousands of people daily eat food there .
If anyone wants to stay there for night , then there is also facility of that too and we call it SARAIN . So we booked one room for us and stayed there.
Next morning we woke up at 5 in the morning and then went to take bath in the HOLY POOL .
So after this we had a breakfast and then started to go to our 3 destination that was JALLIAN WALA BAGH .It was about 10 min away from temple.
JALLIAN WALA BAGH is an ancient bagh /garden which has a great importance . It is famous for the historic event that took place on 13 APRIL 1919 , when GENERAL DYER ordered fire on thousand's of innocent people including small kids, women and old age people.
All the gates were closed and people got trapped inside BAGH.
It is one of the most brutal incident in the INDIAN HISTORY where such a big massacre happened.
Thousand of rounds were fired simultaneously on innocent people. The marks of bullets are easily seen on the walls in JALLIAN WALA BAGH .
Many people tried to save their life by crossing the walls but couldn't do so.
Hundred's of people dived in the well near which now a days is called "MARTYRS WELL".
Also there is a museum and martyr's gallery where all the information is available regarding the incident that happened .Recently a movie was released named UDDHAM SINGH , in that movie you can also see a lot about the incicdent
So this our last destination and here we ended our two days trip to AMRITSAR .We had fun , learned a lot from this trip , created memories that will last forever .We left JALLIAN WALA BAGH and after that took BUS back to KHARAR.
