Hi ๐ fellows, how are you all?
Today's post I'm going to share with you my journey in a beautiful place, Sikkim.
Sikkim is a state in northeast India. It's a border area sharing Bhutan ๐ง๐น, Tibet and Nepal ๐ณ๐ต. Also it is a part of Himalayas, has a dramatic landscape that includes Indian's ๐ฎ๐ณ highest mountain, 8,586 metres Kangchenjunga.
Early morning fresh view after raining Gangtok, Sikkim .
I started my journey to Sikkim from Dhaka, Bangladesh ๐ง๐ฉ. I visited there at the end of September by train. There are many options to go there.
But I choose a night train journey ๐ from Kamalapur rail station ๐ . It was budget friendly and quite exciting for me. It took me 6 to 7 hour to reach the ๐ฎ๐ณ Bangladesh ๐ง๐ฉ border area Panchagarh( an small town in Rangpur District in Bangladesh).
I'm waiting for the train at Kamalapur rail station. It is always crowded during the daytime. So choose a night time ride. See, it is not so crowded here.
I got down at the Panchagarh rail station in the early morning. Roads were wet because of heavy rain ๐ง. Sky was cloudy and there was also fog everywhere. But stayed here for a few moments to feel the environment.
It is the end point of Bangladesh ๐ง๐ฉ border. The place where I was sitting is called Zero point. Behind me, the Entry point Indian ๐ฎ๐ณ border. If you are lucky and Sky is clear you might see the Himalayan mountain views clearly.
From here I went to Indian checking point. It is only 10 minutes walking distance. After finishing the formalities I got permission to enter their country area. From here I hired a car to go to Sikkim. It was 157.7 kilometres away and took 5 hours and 28 minutes to arrive there.
A small statue of Mother Merri nearby Road.
I found this shop nearby Sikkim Road and had some local Sikkimese mouthwatering momos. It was super hot ๐ฅ and delicious ๐. Still raining outside so I stayed there for a few moments. Here I spent my time gossiping with local people. They were very friendly. After taking some rest I go to the Entry point of Sikkim state office in Gangtok ( capital city of Sikkim)to collect my entry pass to visit Sikkim. After completing all the formalities I went to look for a hotel nearby to night stay. I checked in a three star hotel and felt asleep ๐ด quietly. The next morning I woke up early and went to visit the area nearby. The morning is so beautiful here. I was touched by the cold Himalayan breeze frequently.
Early morning views of Gangtok city, Sikkim.
I found this small roadside spring nearby. It is a very common sight here. I certainly came across a dozen of these kinds of springs here ๐. The water was very cold. Local people use this because it's pure and filled with lots of useful minerals.
A small handicraft shop. I found some interesting wall painting, antique statues, ancient books, herbal medicines and many other things. It was pretty cheap and always offered discounts.
I spent my whole morning here, near a village. I tested their local foods and environment. It was fun.
I hope you enjoyed my post. Next time I will come with another adventure. Bye
Thank you for your support and application ๐. Lots of love โคโคโค
