part 3
Hello Hivers, today I want to continue describing my first interrail experience. Today's episode will be about the capital of Denmark: Copenhagen.
When I hear people talk about this city, the opinions are very different, from:
to
For what concerns myself, I think that it is quite a nice city. Of course there are cities in Europe that are more beautiful as a tourist, but if I have to say a place where I would start a new life, probably Copenhagen would be in the first three positions.
The first thing that we saw in Copenaghen as soon as we got of the train, was one of the most famous attractions: The Little Mairmaid.
Here I have to be honest, I was expecting something... more đ . There were a lot of tourist around the statue (mostly Japanese people taking a lot of pictures), but I sincerely still don't understand all the hype.
After this small detour, we finally arrived to the city center (which is quite far from the Little Marmaid), and being so tired from the long walk, we decided to rest a little bit on the Nyhavn river, which crosses the city.
This was truly a magical moment. We laid down on the river bank, with our heavy bags stills on our backs and closed our eyes for a moment. Not so far from us there was this guy who was playing the violin as a street performance. I don't know so much about music to judge if he was actually good or not, but I really loved the way he was playing. The moment was so relaxing that we both fell asleep for almost an hour.
I don't know how many people passed near to us in that moment, and what they were thinking seeing us asleep on the ground with our bags on, but when I finally woke up I was really relaxed and happy.
After we left our stuff in the airbnb, we took the metro and went visiting the city.
The last day, we left our airbnb in the morning, and since we had our train for Berlin later that night, we thought that we could walk through the city center and do some shopping. But, as often happens in the northern countries, weather is unpredictable, and as soon as we arrived, a really heavy rain started. We were forced to enter inside a local pub and since the rain didn't stop up till night, we stayed in the pub drinking a lot of beer and plaing all day with cards đ.
A really alternative way to spend the last day in Copenhagen.
