There is nothing better than experiencing nature within the city itself, and even more so if it is right in the centre of the city.
The parks do not usually have a defined shape when they are away from the centre, but in this case three streets surround it: Paseo del Parque (the main avenue of the centre), Avenida de Cervantes and Calle Cortina del Muelle.
This creates a triangle in which one is transported from the hustle and bustle, tourism and activities to a place full of freshness, greenery, vegetation, a diversity of trees, birds chirping, but there is more.
It is a park very dedicated to art, well I think almost all the parks here are in one way or another. But in my tour I have been able to see water fountains, sculptures that are monuments to important people and a lot of beauty in the internal design of the park.
On its inner side there is also a triangle that is defined at its widest part by a sector where there is a beautiful water fountain, with seats around it and many palm trees and varied vegetation that create a very special space.
I recently reviewed this fountain in its artistic fas, but it has a name and it is the Fuente de la glorieta de Narciso Días de Escovar (Fountain of the roundabout of Narciso Días de Escovar).
In the same place there is a bust dedicated to this character, who was a very important personality in the art and history of the city. What stands out in the bust is his fas as a poet.
And this beautiful fountain is dedicated to him. Many people take pictures here, especially tourists, and pigeons play with the water in the fountain.
It is a very harmonious and peaceful atmosphere, as if poetry is in the air.
The park has many internal, dirt paths and you can stroll among them and enjoy the freshness of the trees, some of which are very old.

The second section of the inner triangle of the park is marked by the statue of Comandante Benítez.
A sculpture that I found imposing and I got as close as possible to see its inscriptions and learn about it. It dates from 1926 and is a great tribute to this commander as well as to the group of soldiers who died in the Rif War.
The white stone base is beautiful and the bronze statue on top of it is a great example of classical art.
Walking along those paths, I found that behind that sculpture there was a monument, a particular rock which I approached and it is dedicated to the Orueta Family.
During the whole walk there are always many plants, trees, palm trees, pigeons everywhere and also many bushes and flowering trees.
They have also recently installed public toilets on the site which look out of this world from the outside.

A little further on and following the path towards the finer point of the inner design of the park's triangle, I could find a large area dedicated to children's play. Various games and swings are part of it.
There was a family at the time with a child playing, so I waited for them to leave to take pictures of such a beautiful place dedicated to children.
There is also a structure that looked to me like a place that sells drinks, for example, but it must be on some special occasion or festivity.

On one side of the road I could see something very curious. It was a bench, but a very particular one, it had columns on the sides pretending to be a library and everything was delicately decorated.
One of the inscriptions read: Ancient women's library. And on the second column it said: rebuilt on the occasion of the 1st Centenary of the Marque of Malaga 1997.
I thought it was a very artistic and beautiful detail.
I continued my way along one of the paths and there are always explanatory signs about the species of plants, bushes or trees that are in that place.
I was already on my way to the end of my route, which is the end or point of the triangle, and there I found two series of sculptures.

One is dedicated to the Marquis of Guadiano, his bronze bust is placed on a large white stone pedestal.
He was an important member of the Larios family and that was the title he had been given. He was an important figure in the construction of the famous Calle Larios and the city park.
This monument is also surrounded by vegetation, especially cactus, palm trees and a beautiful view of the two surrounding roads.
It is very pleasant to walk through art and history together, but with nature all around, a lot of nature and a very quiet space.

Leaving the design of the inner triangle of the park, but still inside it, and looking towards the west of the city, there are two very beautiful sculptures one in front of the other and practically in the middle of the vegetation that make it impossible to get too close.
It is called Arturo Reyes monument, a very important novelist of the city, according to the plaque and it was built by Adrián Risueño in 1964. It marks the end of this beautiful park and the expression of the woman in the sculpture is very beautiful. A full-length statue that seems to be missing a hand. I suppose that it will soon be restored.
It is a park which, together with the Parque de la Ciudad, which I will be visiting soon, is one of the great lungs and green spaces in the centre of the city.
Thank you very much to all of you for joining me, I send you my best regards and see you next time.
