It has been always the unexpected trips that's successful than those carefully planned...
Our family hasn't been fond of outings or reunions ever since we were kids. Now that we've grown up, we made it happen. Perhaps fate favored the entire clan as a consolation from a devastating news, it turned the tables and made us unified this time —letting bygones be bygones and become a family once again.
One the spur of the moment, a cousin blurted out an outing plan and I confirmed if they want to make it happen. Initially, they were all hesitant since they don't have spare budget for it. However, the cousin was so persistent for it let go and offered free cottage and food. One by one, my Uncles and Cousins all agreed. That's where miracles happen!
Let me share here our experience as we traveled to Felomar Resort, Municipality of Pontevedra for wonders...
How to get there?
The place is situated at Sittio Bianti, Barangay Miranda, Municipality of Pontevedra here in Negros Occidental. Though the actual location is at the sittio road, it's not hard to find as you could use the St. Peter Life Plan Chapel as a landmark. From there, the Sittio is across the street. You may walk the path for few steps and you'll get there.
From Bacolod, you may take the bus and the travel might take about 45 minutes. If you're from around the municipality, it only take a tricycle ride and they'll get you there directly. The travel duration still depends on how far you are from the place.
Felomar Resort and Event Hall
This is my first time going here at this resort and I just known it existed when they mentioned the name. The municipality is a slow-paced growing place and all these years, there isn't much progress. People who might have lost hope or wanted to chase more opportunities would relocate to the city. When I heard of the rising resorts, coffee shops and food places here, I was surprised and amazed.
Anyway, the resort isn't that grand even though it is quite popular for families and groups that's looking for an outing place here.
For Reservations and Amenities:
- Swimming pools for swimming lessons
- Karaoke Machines
- Cottages for Big Groups or families
- Event Hall is only for bookings
The resort doesn't offer rooms for an overnight experience but you can have your paid cottages the entire day. The entrance fee is worth Php 50 for adults and Php 20 for kids, 3 years and below.
Let me give a brief tour on the place!
They have 3 different pools here depending on the depth of the water. The one with 2 to 3 feet depth with a slide is for kids. The two pools which have 4, 5, and 6ft is for adults. Children are not allowed there even if they are with adult's supervisions unless they know how to swim and booked the place for swimming lessons.
They have a small green house garden beside the pool. There's also a playground for kids if they want to take a break from swimming.
The cottages are made of bamboo houses with dried Nipa leaves as the roof, covered with a fishing net to avoid faster deterioration. The prices ranges from Php 500 to Php 700. The package differs from the inclusions, if you're cottage have an unlimited Karaoke, with charging plugs and much bigger, then it will be more expensive.
Lastly, There's an Event Hall in here! It's covered space where people can dine, do some recreational programs and sing all day. It's open bookings or first come, first serve basis.
The Experience....
At first, I just wanna let the kids have fun, that's why we went here. Afterwards, since I'm a worrying mother, I joined them at the pool and enjoyed the splashes bursting with laughter from those cute little angels.
The overall experience in the place is good. If the kids have enjoyed it, I'm all good as long as I can see their smiles. The only thing that worries me the most here was the depth of the water on pools for adults. The measurements aren't that accurate as what it has on the labels. It says 4ft but when we dived in, the water is over 5ft, same goes to the 6ft part where it's clearly above 7ft when I tried to stand on the pool's flooring raising my hands up high. If someone isn't that skillful in swimming and just went complacently, that could cause serious accidents. Anyway, there's is a lifeguard watching over the pool. Even if dangerous cases might happened, swimmers will be saved immediately.
I would still recommend this place, though. It's good place to practice swimming or have fun in the waters. I'll just leave a simple reminder to always take care on going to places. In that case, you can have your fun without going through unexpected accidents.
That's all I could share from my recent travels. Thank you as always for reading and supporting my blogs!
