Hello all hive friends, who will reach this post. hope you all are well. And would be enjoying life...😊
Friends, we went for a trip on our bikes last weekend. We were 6 people on 3 bikes. Our journey starts from Almora to Maa Purnagiri Temple, which is about 224 km from Almora, for which we leave from Almora around 7 am and our journey starts from Almora. Friends, we enjoyed this trip a lot and it was very beautiful.
Maa Purnagiri Temple is a famous Shaktipeeth located in Champawat district of Uttarakhand state. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti (Maa Durga) and is considered one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of India. This temple is located near the holy Sharda river, about 20 km from Tanakpur.
It is believed that when Lord Shiva was doing Tandava with the dead body of Mata Sati, Lord Vishnu divided her body into 51 parts. The place where the navel of Maa Sati fell is known today as Maa Purnagiri. Every year lakhs of devotees come here for darshan, especially during Chaitra Navratri, a huge fair is held here. The temple is situated on a high hill, where one has to travel on foot to reach. This journey is a symbol of the faith and belief of the devotees.
This temple is at an altitude of about 3000 feet above sea level. This journey includes hanging bridge, valley, stairs and dense forest. From here, a wonderful view of the beautiful hills of the Himalayas and the Sharda river is visible. It is believed that wishes are fulfilled by visiting Maa Purnagiri. Especially those devotees who pray with a true heart, the mother definitely blesses them.
This temple is located on the banks of the Sharda river and is built in a hilly area near the Nepal border. The natural beauty here is very captivating. The idol of Maa Purnagiri is worshiped as Shakti Swaroopa. There is no idol of the goddess in the temple, rather the goddess is worshiped in a pindi (natural form), which is considered to be self-manifested.
Palanquin service is available for elderly and sick travellers. There are many ashrams and huts of saints on the way, where devotees can take blessings. Slogans of Jai Maa Purnagiri keep echoing throughout the way. Maa Purnagiri Yatra is not just a pilgrimage, it is a spiritual journey, where devotees forget their sorrows and pain and come to the shelter of the mother. There is devotion in the air here, there is faith in the roads and the presence of the mother in the temple gives peace to every mind.
thanks for watching...🤗
