Come and go wild with David Guetta at Ushuaïa, Ibiza

Hello dear Hive friends in this WorldMapPin community! I hope you are doing great.

This time I will be bringing you an event I experienced in Ibiza, and that was seeing David Guetta. The truth is that at some point in my life I thought: How nice it would be to see a Guetta show sometime, and when that thought crossed my mind, I was looking for a job in Mendoza, it was the first time I left my parents' house and the truth is that I never imagined that life would take me to fulfill that wish.

**As my Spanish brothers would say here today, the Law of Attraction works! Life led me to see it, and you know what the best part of it all was? I didn't pay a cent!

It turns out that I was totally determined to pay the €100 entrance fee. The summer was coming to an end and I was putting off going to see Guetta, and at one point I said, this is it, I'm going because I really want to see him! And when I made the decision I told a girl I was meeting at the time (we are not meeting anymore, hehe). And she told me that she had a friend who could get us in for free.

So, I got my wish for free. But of course, it should be clear that David didn't go to knock on my door, I also took action and the moment just came.

En esta oportunidad les estaré acercando un evento que viví en Ibiza, y fue ver a David Guetta. La verdad es que en algún momento de mi vida pensé: Qué lindo sería ver un show de Guetta alguna vez, y cuando se me cruzó aquel pensamiento por la mente, yo estaba buscando empleo en Mendoza, era la primera vez que me iba de casa de mis padres y la verdad es que jamás me imaginé que la vida me llevaría a cumplir aquel deseo.

Pues toma ya!!, como dirían aquí hoy mis hermanos españoles, vaya que la Ley de la Atracción funciona! La vida me condujo a verlo, y saben qué fue lo mejor de todo?? No pagué un centavo!

Resulta que yo sí que estaba totalmente decidida a pagar los €100 que salía la entrada. El verano estaba llegando a su fin y yo iba postergando ir a ver a Guetta, y en un momento dije, pues ya está, voy porque realmente quiero verlo! Y cuando tomé la decisión se lo comente a una chica que estaba conociendo en ese momento (no estamos conociéndonos más, jeje). Y ella me dijo que tenía una amiga que nos podía hacer entrar gratis.

Anda, cosa que se cumplió mi deseo gratuitamente. Pero bueno claro, hay que aclarar que David no fue a golpear la puerta de mi casa, yo también tomé acción y sencillamente el momento llegó.

Maybe you are wondering why this post on WorldMapPin, and I think there is no other way to talk about Ushuaïa if not presenting a show. I've been to few parties in Ibiza, and there are too many clubs, but there are a few that stand out, and this is one of them.

Ushuaïa, which is very close to HÏ (I didn't go to this one), is characterized for being an open discotheque where different musicians, throughout the week, present their show.

Quizás te estás preguntando por qué este post en WorldMapPin, y es que creo que no hay otra manera de hablar de Ushuaïa si no es presentando un show. He ido a pocas fiestas en Ibiza, y hay demasiadas discotecas, pero hay algunas que se destacan, y esta es una de ellas.

Ushuaïa, que se encuentra muy cerca de HÏ (no fui a esta), se caracteriza por ser una discoteca abierta en donde diferentes músicos a lo largo de la semana, presentan su show.

Generalmente los músicos se repiten a lo largo de todo el verano, y es por eso que por ejemplo Guetta, toca todos los lunes en Ushuaïa, y todos los viernes en Hï. Al menos así fue durante la temporada de Ibiza en el 2024.

Something else that makes this club stand out is that the show starts in the afternoon, around 17:00 hours, while Hï, for example, starts right after Uahuaïa.

This is something very common in the party atmosphere of the island, the fact that there is a kind of alliance between pubs, discos and bars, to hook the closing of one with the opening of another. There are also after parties that offer parties until after midday, and this is something that leaves the more nocturnal visitors in a loop that takes them from party to party, to sleep for a couple of hours and to continue partying.

Nothing healthy, but very tempting for lovers of that face of Ibiza.

Algo más que destaca a esta discoteca es que el show empieza por la tarde, sobre las 17:00 horas, mientras que Hï por ejemplo, empieza justo después de Uahuaïa.

Esto es algo muy común en el ambiente de fiesta de la isla, el hecho de que exista una especie de alianza entre los pubs, discos y bares, para enganchar el cierre de uno con la apertura de otro. Además hay after party que ofrecen fiesta hasta pasado el mediodía, y esto es algo que deja a los visitantes más nocturnos en un loop que los lleva de fiesta en fiesta, a dormir un par de horas y a seguir de fiesta.

Nada saludable, pero muy tentador para los amantes de aquel rostro de Ibiza.

La piscina de este sitio es espectacular, como la de la mayoría de los hoteles de la zona, que deslumbran con sus piscinas que llevan el nombre del lugar impreso en el suelo y que se ve claramente con drones o desde terrazas.

The parties in Ibiza are also characterized by calling certain groups of people. Yes, in general people want to know as much as they can about the parties, being some electronic, others eighties, others Latin and others, of course everyone chooses to attend what interests them the most.

In this case the public that Guetta attracts is more American or Northern European, for example from the United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, the so-called guiris, not in a derogatory way but this is how they refer to visitors from those sectors of the continent.

This means that the public has different consumption tendencies, in general terms. For example at Ushuaïa, especially at a Guetta party which is commercial electronica, you will see more people drinking alcohol and many more drunk people. But if you go to another club like Chinois where the electronica is really of that genre, you will see more people “in peace” because more other substances are consumed (I'm not sure if I can go into this, so I'd rather skip it).

Las fiestas en Ibiza además se caracterizan por llamar a grupos determinados de personas. Sí que en general la gente quiere conocer todo lo que puede de las fiestas, al ser algunas electrónicas, otras ochentosas, otras latinas y demás, claro que cada quien elige asistir a lo que más le interesa.

En este caso el público al que atrae Guetta es más estadounidense o noreuropeo, por ejemplo de Reino Unido, Alemania, Países Bajos, los llamados guiris, no de manera despectiva pero así se refieren a los visitantes de aquellos sectores del continente.

Esto hace que el público tenga diferentes tendencias de consumo, a rasgos generales. Por ejemplo en Ushuaïa, en especial en una fiesta de Guetta que es electrónica comercial, verán a más gente bebiendo alcohol y a muchas más personas borrachas. Pero si van a otro boliche como podría ser Chinois en donde la electrónica es realmente de ese género, verán a más personas “en son de paz” porque se consumen más otras sustancias (no estoy segura si puedo adentrarme en esto, por lo que prefiero obviarlo).

Finally, which perhaps should have gone at the beginning, Ushuaïa is located on the famous Playa d'en Bossa, compared by some tourists with Miami (not by most). Finalmente, que quizás debería haber ido al principio, Ushuaïa se encuentra en la famosa Playa d'en Bossa, comparada por algunos turistas con Miami (no por la mayoría). Es una playa que se extiende hacia el oeste y que ofrece a lo largo, una gran cantidad de hoteles, bares, discotecas, restaurantes hasta el final de la misma, que termina con el hotel Grand Palladium. A partir de allí inicia “Las Salinas”, un área natural preciosa de Ibiza.
