“Nature can bring you to stillness, that is its gift to you.”- Eckhart Tolle
Our last adventure of discovering caves in the lowland part of our town was unforgettably both heart-fulfilling and disheartening. As I shared a bit in my last blog about our cave adventure, the situation of the caves was a little disappointing because of the unsightly garbage waste strewn at the entrance.
I found these people very irresponsible who just threw away their garbage especially plastic and diapers in the cave. Out of the three caves we explored, only one was in a good and preserved state. While I was already slightly irritated because of the delay in time that we kicked off our hike, my irritation heightened more because of the disappointing sight and unpleasant odor of the caves. It was a sad and disappointing experience, to be honest, that was my first time exploring nature and I ended up very disappointed and irritated. huhu.
And what’s the other way to heal and sweep away the aches but to indulge once again in nature? So instead of going home defeated, I suggested concluding our hike by taking our lunch to one of the most secluded yet one of the most serene and tranquil beaches I know of Tabogon, a hidden piece of paradise, the ever-blue beach of Lib-og, Tabogon, Cebu, ready to embrace weary souls.
A piece of Paradise found in Lib-og, Tabogon, Cebu
Tranquil, a stunning blue sea that mirrored the azure blue sky, a clean, hidden gem, the best spot for diving, remote, and the best spot for seekers of solitude, are the words I can best describe this beach to someone who hasn’t been to this place.
Remote. One thing that really made this beach a fulfilling destination to reach is its distance from the road and the long hike it requires before you get to see its true beauty. With an average pace of walking along the rocky terrain and open farm, it requires at least 30 minutes. Enough for beachgoers to break a sweat and exercise their legs. It is a lengthy walk but it is rewarding!
We traversed the path going to the beach at almost lunchtime, with our stomachs growling and my heart with a tinge of disappointment on the last cave we dropped by, my feet took huge strides to finally see the beach! I was in a hurry to finally calm my senses and my growling tummy, and yes this beach holds the answer.
A stunning blue sea that mirrored the azure blue sky. While I visited this beach a couple of times already, this hidden paradise always leaves me in awe of its hidden beauty. Its shades of blue which change from crystal color to deep blue color gave me this calming and cool feeling. Looking at the expansive and boundless blue sea, I felt humbled and fulfilled by this grand creation of God.
The best spot for diving. Like the other popular diving spots of Tabogon, Lib-og deserves applause. I once rode a small boat circling and checking the cliff of Tabogon (thanks to my student who offered a free boat ride when I was assigned to this place before) and all IO could remember was my amazement at the clear water that I could even see the coral reefs beneath!
And knowing this beach location that is secluded and only very few visits because of its remote location, I am 99% certain of the untouched corals on the sea ground. Furthermore, the towering cliff of this beach already offers a platform for adventurous beachgoers which offers good jumping and diving spots.
Tranquil. Aaah yes, it is. It’s the kind of tranquility that you will hear nothing except the beautiful symphony of nature. The crashing of the waves to the shore and the cliff, the wind, the rustling of the leaves, and sometimes the laughter of the beachgoers are like lullaby that will surely put you to sleep.
And yes, I always sit on my favorite spot, every time I visit this beach. A window where I can see the tropical plants, the gorgeous expansion of the cliff, the beautiful sea, and the sky. It’s very tropic and tranquil. And this is one of the qualities of this beach that I fell in love with.
The disappointment that I felt a while ago? The irritation? Naaah, they're gone. Vanished to this paradise embrace.💚
As soon as we arrived at the beach, we then searched for a good place where we could partake in our lunch together. We were silent, a sign that we were all hungry. Haha! And we sweat nonstop, proof that we walked a distance under the scorching heat of the sun!
After filling our tummy, it's time for everyone to roam and explore the beach. While others enjoyed their time taking pictures of this paradise, I took my time to lay on the ground and absorbed once more the wonderful energy this place exudes.
Ahhhh, the sea breeze, the trees and the ground, the s i l e n c e e e e e. Zzz ZZZ zzz Zzz 🍃
