Hello there! It's me, Mae!
I hope you all are doing well. Ahead of my first day in Sipalay, waking up at 5 in the morning might seem like a struggle for most, but when the beach is calling— it somehow feels right. The house is still quiet, save for a few groggy yawns, half-packed bags, and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The world feels still, and there’s an undeniable excitement in the air. This early morning is the calm before the adventure—Sipalay, with its tranquil beauty, is about to unfold before me.
After a quick shower to rinse off the sleep, I decided to do the quick and easy beach makeup thing because, let’s be honest, we all know it’s crucial to get some good pictures before you dive into the water! Hahaha I mean, who wouldn’t want to look their best in front of a backdrop as stunning as Sipalay’s beaches? So, a little makeup, a few carefully chosen outfit shots, and now I’m ready to hit the waves.
It was just me, my aunt, and cousin hopping into a tricycle for the ride to the beach. My mom, siblings, and Lola were in our car because we couldn't fit, after all. The wind in my hair and the excitement of the day ahead made the 10-minute drive feel like the perfect little adventure. Seeing those lush greenery and wide open roads. Passing by the friendly locals—Sipalaynons and smiling to them along the way. There’s something so charming about taking the tricycle ride—it adds a touch of local flair to the whole experience. Plus, it’s a fun, breezy way to start a beach day.

Finally, we arrived at the beach. The moment my feet touched the sand, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. It felt like I had been recharged—like the worries I carried quietly slipped away with each step. There’s something healing about the sea breeze, the sound of gentle waves, and the warmth of the morning sun. It’s as if the beach knows exactly what your soul needs.
The view was just as stunning as I remembered—it had been a year since I last visited this place. And yet, it felt like nothing had changed. The same fine white sand, the sparkling water, and that peaceful atmosphere welcomed me back. There’s a special kind of comfort in returning to a place that holds so many good memories.

After a few quick photos with my sister—because beach memories need to be captured—we sat down for breakfast. The fish we ate was fresh from the ocean, and you could really taste the difference. My sister and her cousin were already lost in their own little world, playing in the sand and soaking up the sun. I took a few family photos to freeze the moment in time. Everything about that morning felt simple, joyful, and incredibly memorable.

While everyone else was full and happily splashing around in the water, my sister and I continued our little photo shoot—because why not? I was determined to take as many photos as possible before heading back to Bacolod City hahaha. I wore a green swimsuit that made me feel confident and beach-ready. It was all about capturing the moment, feeling good, and making sure this trip was one for the books.
By the way, here’s a little shoutout to my sister—my personal photographer for the day! Most of my favorite shots were taken by her, and I definitely owe her the credit for capturing me in my best angles. Well, there was always an exchange—I made sure to get her good shots too. It’s only fair! That’s the unspoken rule of sibling beach shoots hahaha.

After all the fun, the laughter, and way too many photos, it was time to head home. We hopped back onto a tricycle together with my siblings and cousin and made our way to Lola’s house, tired but happy. The sun was starting to dip a little lower, and as the breeze hit my face again. It felt a sense of contentment. It was one of the days you wish you could replay.
Truly, there is something more that Sipalay can offer—beyond its beaches and scenic views. It’s in the slow mornings, the shared laughter, and the warmth of family. Sipalay is not just a destination; it’s my birthplace. Every time I return, it reminds me of where I came from and the quiet beauty that shaped my childhood. I may have left footprints in the sand, but Sipalay left something deeper in me.
Until I see you again, my homeđź’šđź’™
Hoping to see you all again! Bye bye!❤️
