I dream about this magical island resort often, remembering the first and so far only time I have been there, 7 long years ago, which was a well deserved present for my birthday after a couple of years of hard work at work, then a couple of weeks of long hours but not such hard work after volunteering with Elephants, Bears, Crocodile, Monkeys, Deer, Slow Lorises and all kinds of awesome animals at WFFT.https://www.wfft.org

And this amazing resort paradise is actually called Paradise Koh Yao on koh Yao Noi.
This remote island paradise is only accessible by boat- which is an incredible adventure in itself!
Located towards the north easterly tip of Koh Yao Noi Island- which is the northern Island of the 2 Koh islands, the southern Island being called Koh Yao Yai, this lush and sumptuous remote resort Paradise Island is almost in the centre of Phang Nga Bay, between Krabi to the east and the more imfamous island of Phuket to the west. https://www.paradise-kohyao.com/en/

In Australia and I’m sure many other parts of the world there are websites called Groupon, Scoopon and Spreets which source discount deals from a range of businesses including travel and accommodation deals.
I had seen this resort purely by accident on a cheap deal website and for the cost, return airfares were also included in the deal with the cost of the accommodation in the resort, however since my (ex-)partner and I were already going to be there in Thailand volunteering at the wildlife friends foundation of Thailand, that excluded us from being able to take part in the discount deal.
But it was too late, I had already fallen in love with the place from the website and realised that the resort itself had an extraordinary discount deal, where is if you booked 41 days in advance you would receive a 55% discount!
This was even better than the cheap deal, so all I had to do was change your travel plans by a couple of days and I was able to get that deal!
And although the resort looked stunning on the website back then, just like my photos, really don’t do it justice, because this island and this resort is absolutely stunning and it is anything you want to be- pure relaxation or heart pumping adventure.
And we opted to do both, and the weather also motivated us to both, because some days were dry and sunny, and others were warm and stormy.
I spent a lot of time in the pool, cause I LOVE being in water!
And spent many hours being lost in this incredible scene as I'm sure you will too.
Even at night- especially at night! 🤣😁
The resort itself, had a wide range of accommodation styles, from beachside to hillside and they have even now extended into the jungle for the most natural of accommodation.
We had the- what they now call the Seaview Plunge Pool Deluxe Studios, however when we were there, it wasn't actually a plunge pool, but a hot jacuzzi instead.
And this was the beautiful view from the bed.
Our simply stunningly elegant studio apartment on the hill overlooking the bay, perfectly suited all of our moods and needs.
From our queen size bed, with a covered in mosquito, we were able to look out upon the sensational beach views and sunsets without moving an inch.
And this is the decking with the former jacuzzi (or what we call here a spa).
And as you can see, even on a wet day, it was still the prefect place to be relaxing with a Clive Cussler Adventure story.
The resort also has a range of venues for Thai massage and meditation, a yoga studio on the beach, and other venues for a range of onsite activities such as Traditional batik painting and tie-dye classes, Thai cooking classes, beach volleyball court.
And this is where we had our complimentary yoga classes 😃
The resort also has a large range of undercover relation areas- perfect to set up my office.
And a range of onsite and offsite adventure activities to satisfy every person, this resort has it all, from snorkeling, jungle trekking, kayaking, scuba-divin, swimming, to Eco biking, fishing trips, village tours and more.
But if you want to explore an adventure further afield you can go island hopping on a long boat, or the resorts own catamaran.
Or you can just spend your days frolicking, relaxing, exploring and admiring this beach from every angle.
Whether it be sunny or stormy and wet
Low tide or high tide
It was an extraordinary view whichever way you looked at it.
And sometimes it’s just enough to lay there on your Hammick and watch the clouds build as a colourful sunset thunderstorm thunderstorm brews in front of you....
And then there's the main resort area itself and every single bit of it is just superb.

And then even the external features have been so well designed with simple, but stunning aesthetic features like this external wall here.
And then there's one of the bars on the beach
with this very unique and fun 'seat' at the bar...
And we haven't even gotten to the quality of the food and the service- or even the location of the dining areas for that matter, so lets start here.
The food was absolutely scrumptious and if I remember correctly the full buffet breakfast was even included in the cost of our accommodation.
And I think that says it all really for the location and the food. 😄
And to top it off, these amazing people here were not only staff, but after 2 weeks spending breakfast, lunch and dinner with them, they became our friends and if you look on the website now, you will see that 7 years later, many of these fantastic people are still there.
And just incase of emergency....
Anyway, I have nothing but good things- great things to say about this brilliant holiday destination and really hope that one day, you will all get a chance to go there and experience the splendor of it yourself!
