From Aussie Skies to Abu Dhabi Skies
My Etihad journey began in Melbourne. As we all know, Australia is far from... well, almost everything. So, comfort matters. A lot. I’d heard great things about Etihad, and this trip gave me a chance to test it firsthand.

The First Class cabin was everything you’d hope for on a long flight. Roomy seats, adjustable headrests, and enough recline to actually rest. What really surprised me though? The food. From Aussie-style brekkie to Middle Eastern-inspired mains, everything looked fresh and tasted great.
Now, maybe I appreciated it more because my last flight was with Air India. Shorter duration but let’s just say, the food didn’t hit the mark. So this time, I was extra observant...and Etihad didn’t disappoint.
Entertainment? Sorted. I found the perfect show almost instantly. The cabin itself had this warm, earthy vibe. Apparently inspired by the Abu Dhabi desert. Soooo subtle, classy, and kinda cozy.
One thing I really liked was the LED mood lighting that changed gradually during the flight. It’s supposed to help with jet lag and honestly, I did feel less drained than usual. A small detail, but a smart one.
As soon as I got my soft blanket and proper pillow (yes, an actual pillow), I got super comfy. Headphones on, screen glowing. It was time to just chill.
🛬 Final Thoughts

Flying from Australia is always a mission, but Etihad made it feel easy. Everything from the service, the seat, and the feel. It definitely stood out as one of my better flying experiences.
Would I go with Etihad again? For sure.
