Buenas tardes amigos hivers, deseo hayan tenido un excelente día. Les comparto mi primer día de aventura en la alta guajira, está vez fuimos a visitar salinas de Manaure, antes de eso pasamos por uribia a comprar alimento, mekato y agua, más adelante les estaré explicando el porque de esta compra. La via sobre la cual íbamos sigue su camino a Maicao el cual es fronterizo con Maracaibo Venezuela.
A mano izquierda se toma la via a la alta guajira y se empieza a notar está zona desértica y lo primero que nos encontramos es Manaure, allí se produce el 70% de la sal de Colombia, serian como unas especies de piscinas o estanques poco profundos y son de empresas del gobierno y otras de las comunidades de la región.
Estos estanques contienen el agua que se extare del mar caribe a través de unas bombas y se dejan evaporar por cierto determinado tiempo con ayuda del sol y el viento, es decir de una forma muy natural y artesanal y luego se pasa a otros estanques para que está haga su proceso de concentración de sal y permitiendo su cristalización, luego de esto pasa por otro proceso en las refinerías para el consumo humano, animal y para el curtimbre de cuero; también nos explicaron la importancia de la Artemia salina, el cual es un crustaseo que permite la limpieza, purificación y dar un color rosado a la sal, de igual manera pasa esto para los flamencos y las langostas quienes comen este crustaseo y por eso toman este color rosado. La Artemia salina Es un animal que se reproduce fácilmente y que va dejando sus huevos y por eso siempre es constante en el proceso de la sal.
Luego de que la sal se cristaliza se lava y se empaca en costales y se carga un camión, el cual los lleva a la refinerías. El lugar es sin duda la actividad más importante para la guajira y las comunidades wayuu, dónde se genera una sostenibilidad económica y social muy importante, allí además se venden diferentes productos hechos por la comunidad a base de sal para el consumo humano, para diferentes dolores y cuidados de la piel, es un lugar increíble y es bastante bonito.
Luego nos esperaba un delicioso almuerzo y otra actividad, sin embargo ¡Esa! Es otra historia.
