Hello wonderful readers today I will take you to a thrilling adventure how we conquered Hatu peak in winter the difficulties we faced and how we made it successful in such a condition this winter vlog is for the #winterchallenge organised by #worldmappin. So now let’s begin our journey.
All of you know that the winters have arrived so we decided to go on an adventure trip before we get stuck at our homes. We started our journey from Shimla which is in Himachal Pradesh and had to reach Narkanda which was 62 km from Shimla but unfortunately we stucked In a bad traffic the road was jampacked with the cars as it was slippery on the road it took us 3 hours to get out of the traffic.
So at the end we reached this place it is in narkanda a local camps it took us 6-7 hours to reach there. Our plan was to reach there on time and we wanted to hike today and come back on time but the plan got changed due to the bad weather. The peak is totally approachable by road but due to snow the road got slippery . So by not taking risk we all decided to stay there so that the next morning we will start our journey. The good thing was that the snow stopped at the night time we all were happy.
Next morning when we waked up the weather was quite but the road was little slippery so we all decided to not take any risk and decided to conquer the peak by walking. It was 7 km trek at the elevation of 11,155 feet. Everyone was exited for the walk but it was cold outside making our journey difficut.
The decision of not taking our cars was the best one as forward we moved the road was full of black ice. The temperature was getting down making our journey difficult and thrilling but the passion of traveling made us all strong. We were scared wishing the weather to stay calm as it was just the beginning.
The more we walked the more difficult rised the path was not in a good condition to walk it took us double time to walk. We were not able to take a long steps the path was slippery and making us fall again and again. We were in the middle of the journey could not thought of going back so we maovad forward. Helping each other by sometime holding hands.
At this time what we were praying for not to happen happend. The snow started we were not carrying the umbrellas not even the full winter clothes. We were in the middle of the jungle we could not even see the single person for the help. As forward we were moving the wind was more the temperature was going down. And there was no hope for the snow to stop.
So for a while we stopped under a big pine trees helping us to not get wet from the snowy flakes being our shelter for sometime. The condition was getting more worse and our hand and feet got cold there was no hope for the bornfire all the woods around us was wet. So we all decided not to go ahead till the snow stopped.
The snow stopped and we started walking again but the path was full of snow not good for walking so we decided to take a rough path as it not slippery and the fresh snow make a good grip. But the path was steep but while walking our body got warm and the cold vanished from us. We met the people coming from the top rising our hopes to conquer.
So the batteries of the phone were down so before getting our phone out of the batteries so asked people to click our photos. The photo was awesome. Behind us was the benches but it was full of snow not in the condition to sit we were tired but no place to sit or take rest the trees were also very less due to the less oxygen at the high elevation.
The snow stopped and the little rays of Sun came we stopped there to warm up our feet and hands the clothes we were wearing was all wet not letting the warmth of the body to maintain. But the hope to conquer the peak kept us all motivated and energetic. Now the destination was just 1-2 km and the weather was also calm.
Some of us reached the place waiting for the others to reach to go inside. As we reached all the energy got restored the cold we were feeling was all out we were feeling very happy as it was the first snowfall and the willpower and the passion made us all conquer the peak.
This was the time we all reached took darshan of the mata and clicked photographs as it was 4:00pm and we had to go back the snow stared again and with more speed as we were at the high elevation. But now it was more difficult to walk back as the path was steep and totally covered with snow and the cars where we parked would also be packed with the snow.
This is the temple of the mata MANDODARI wife of RAVANA. It is also believed that the PANDAVAS spent part of their time in exile on the top of this HIMALAYAN MOUNTAIN. There are two giant stones shaped like a chullah called BHEEM CHULLAH stands as an evidence in vicinity. On the clear day we can also see the SHRIKHAND MAHADEV peak from here.
This was the time we all reached back safely and happily. The cars were stuck so we had to stay there for the next morning so that we could take the help of the locals to take down our cars to the main road. But the good thing was that the weather got clear not a change to snow again so with a free mind we had our dinner had a good gossip and slept with a free mind. Next day we took help of the local guys they were very kind helped us to take our cars down to the road safely and we reached back home safely.
