Hello everyone! How are you today? I hope you guys have a good Wednesday. On the first days of the new year, what do you usually do first? I'm sure everyone is preparing to start the new year's plans. On the first days of the new year, I just passed a final exam. So this time, I have a lot of time to rest for myself. During times like this, I usually go to certain places to play and visit. Since knowing the Hive platform, I have been very happy, to be able to share my wonderful travel experiences and receive many compliments from my Hiver friends. That is the source of motivation for me to continue writing the next articles. With the same trips and experiences, when coming to the beautiful city of Da Nang, travel. In my post today, I will introduce to everyone about a famous tourist destination, which anyone who comes to Da Nang will see this place. That is Linh Ung Pagoda, located on the Son Tra peninsula. I will start writing about this place, through my today's post.
Vietnam is a country with many ethnic groups with more than 54 ethnic groups across the S-shaped land. It has a long history, culture, majestic landscape, and friendly and hospitable people. Besides, Vietnam is also one of the countries with many religions. The largest religion of Vietnam is Catholicism. The oldest religion is Buddhism. My family, everyone in my family is Buddhist. Only I do not follow any religion. I once wrote an article about a large cathedral in Da Nang, next in my post today, I will write about a famous pagoda in Da Nang city. That is Linh Ung pagoda. The reason why here, you can see this temple is that here, there is a statue nearly 70m high and located on a high mountain area. So when you come to Da Nang, you will easily see this temple from below the mountain.
Where is Linh Ung Pagoda located?
Linh Ung Pagoda is located on the Son Tra Peninsula. Located at Hoang Sa street, Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city. To get to the temple, we will have to move from the Vo Nguyen Giap sea road leading to Son Tra mountain. Along the sea road, looking out into the distance on the mountain, everyone will see a large statue of Quan Am Buddha no matter where people stand at Da Nang beach. From the city center to Linh Ung Pagoda, it only takes 20 minutes to travel for 10km. Linh Ung Pagoda is located in a very beautiful location, with the main gate of the temple facing the sea of Da Nang. everyone will reach the foot of Son Tra mountain. From here, it only takes us 4km to reach Linh Ung pagoda. Along the way to the temple, there are many beautiful beaches, along with stacked rocks, creating a highlight for the beach here. On this road, there will be a lot of monkeys, sitting around on both sides road. Tourists will often feed the monkeys and this is one of the things you shouldn't do when you set foot on the Son Tra Peninsula. Because this will lose the self-feeding instinct of the monkeys, making them very dependent on humans. There have been many cases when monkeys attack and snatch food from tourists. So when coming here, people have to be very attentive. After reaching the path to the temple, there will be two different paths. If we go by car, we will go straight to the road, if we go by motorbike, we will go to the left-hand side of the temple. I'm going by motorbike today, so I'll go on the left-hand side. After parking the motorbike at the parking lot. I continued to enter the temple. The 100m long steps with a steep slope will lead us to the main gate of this temple. In front of the steps, there is a man-made stream. This place has a tour guide and a tour map. The visiting time frame of the temple is from 7 am to 9 pm, this is a spiritual area, so there will be no admission fee and it is completely free.
The area I'm standing in is the 15th place on the map. After walking all the last steps, the gate of the temple will appear in front of you. With yellow text, write the name of Linh Ung Pagoda along with the address of the temple. On the two sides of the main gate are two auxiliary gates named "Tri Hue Truong and Bo De Sanh". If you look on the map, this is the Tam Quan Gate of the temple.
Step inside the main gate of the temple, there will be 18 arhats. These 18 will have different names and good meanings for each statue, 18 arhats are Buddha's enlightened disciples, usually, the Langhans will be placed at the main hall of each temple. The path to the main hall has many bonsai trees with unique and beautiful shapes.
The front of the main hall of the temple consists of 3 parts, each with its function. Stepping inside the main hall, there will be two yellow statues in front of the gate, these two statues are located opposite each other. These are statues, representing the incarnation of good and evil. They are the guardians of this temple. Step inside, there will be many different statues. The main statues in this main hall include 3 statues. Each statue is a Buddha. The statue in the middle is a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha is a monk, he is the missionary and founder of Buddhism, with two hands of Buddha, interlaced and two thumbs pressed to the top. two-finger tip. This Buddha statue is placed in a meditating position and behind is an image of a Banyan Tree. A symbol of Buddhism. On the right-hand side of Shakyamuni Buddha is a statueof Quan The Buddha, she is a Bodhisattva who embodies the thoughts of allBuddhas.Next to the left hand is the statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, this statue people will surely confuse with the Tripitaka. Although they are depicted in the same way, their spiritual lives are different. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is symbolic of saving sentient beings from heaven to hell.
After passing through the main hall, I passed another area where there was a tall stupa. After walking to this place, I saw a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha in a lying position. With one hand on the cheek and the other on the hip. It will look very much like sleeping, but the eyes of the statue are still open. After researching, I found out that people who have cultivated righteous results and attained enlightenment, even when they fall asleep, can practice cultivation. In Buddhism, sleep is very important. People with a peaceful mind will easily fall asleep. At the foot of the statue, there will be two wheels, I don't understand what these wheels mean. But in my opinion, these are the things that Shakyamuni Buddha experienced during his cultivation, who attained enlightenment and cultivated righteous results. Behind the reclining Buddha statue is a stupa named Xa Loi Tower, the meaning of the relics tower is to help people find peace in their souls and peace in life. The tower was built with 9 floors. Each floor will have a dedicated Buddha because the area inside the stupa is limited for photography, so I couldn't take pictures inside the place. Next to the stupa is a statue of Maitreya Buddha, this is a compassionate Buddha and the main tube is the 5th Buddha and the last Buddha to appear in Buddhism. Maitreya Buddha represents fortune, along with health. In each temple, Maitreya Buddha will be placed in the most peaceful place in the temple. At this location, it can be said to be one of the quietest of this temple, the scenery around this place is very beautiful, planted with a lot of trees. With a beautiful view so that everyone can see the vast sea below the mountain.
After visiting the relics, I continued to visit the Deer Park area. This is where Shakyamuni Buddha gave his first sermon. There will be a stone statue of Buddha Shakyamuni and his disciples preaching the Dharma. The Buddha statue is located at an old tree, around the old tree are smooth green lawns, along with beautiful small yellow chrysanthemum flowers. After visiting the area, I continued to pass through the Lumbini garden. This is where Buddha was born. Every day on Buddha's birthday, people will go to the area to offer flowers and make offerings to Buddha. The area around this place is a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni as a child, his arm is pointed to the sky, which is considered as a greeting. In front of his chest is a swastika, which is the main symbol of the Buddhist religion. There is a lake here, there are many fish in this lake. Every fish here is also vegetarian, with barley food.
The last place that I would like to recommend, to everyone today. That is also the main location of my today's post. If you look at the sightseeing map, this is the 12th position on the map. With the name "Quan Am Phat Dai". This site is also the largest area of this temple. There is a statue of Guanyin Buddha with a height of nearly 70m, this is one of the tallest Buddha statues in Southeast Asia. When arriving at the beaches of Da Nang, people will easily see the Buddha statue, from afar. Inside the Buddha statue, there are 12 floors, each floor will be dedicated to a different Buddha. The statue of Quan Am Buddha is leaning against Son Tra mountain and facing the sea. Here we can observe very clearly the beautiful beaches of Da Nang city, it will be very beautiful when everyone, can watch the sunset every afternoon at this location. Because the temple is located at a high position, it has cool and fresh air. Below the Buddha statue is a large courtyard where people will pray for the best. Previously, Da Nang was a place affected by many strong storms every year. But since having this temple, Da Nang rarely encounters strong storms with destructive power. Maybe that is a thought of some people when talking about this temple. But who knows, that is the cover of Guan Yin Buddha for the people of Da Nang. There is also another temple gate here, leading people down the mountain. But now this gate has been locked, not allowing visitors to enter this gate. Because below this gate area is on the pass road and it is very dangerous for people to go by this road. After visiting this temple, I have an experience for everyone, that is the best time to visit the temple is around 3 pm to 6 pm. This is the most beautiful time of the day and if we go by car we can seamlessly visit the temple. From the area of the Xa Loi Tower to the main hall and the last place in the area with the tall statue of Quan Am Buddha.
After visiting Linh Ung pagoda, I started down the mountain and returned home. On the way home, I passed the Thuan Phuoc bridge. The sky is not pretty today. Standing on the bridge, I can observe the whole city of Da Nang. If you later set foot in Linh Ung Pagoda and on the way back to the city. Everyone should visit this beautiful bridge. On the left side of the bridge from the direction of Linh Ung Pagoda going down are the waters of Tien Sa port. I accidentally saw beautiful places in this sea. I will take a boat trip to explore the area. Today's post is quite long, my English is not good. But I will try my best through my next posts.
Thank you all for reading and supporting my post. Wishing everyone a happy Wednesday. See you all soon.
