Hi hivers! Welcome back to my blog. So in this blog I am going to share to you about the three beautiful islands nearby in Barobo. This blog may be long but I’m going to show it, in just one blog. Please take time to read. Thank you.
So, in Barobo, Surigao del Sur, you can go island hopping on three different islands. Which are Cabgan island, Vanishing island and Turtle island.
Note: I decided to grab one photo from facebook because I don’t have one using drone. And this is the perfect captured from above. ⬆️
CABGAN ISLAND
Let’s start with Cabgan island.
Cabgan Islet or Island in Barobo is one of Surigao del Sur's hidden gems. It's one of three islands in Barobo, that you can visit, but Cabgan Islet is the best for me in terms of sand quality, water clarity, and a spectacular view as picture seen from above!
Cabgan Island is a lovely island located around 20-30 minutes from the fish port. Cabgan Island features a lengthy stretch of white, fine sand beach. It's great for swimming, but keep in mind that the waves might be harsh.
WESTLIFE CLIFF in Cabgan Island
The Westlife Cliff is another story, but I’m going to share it to you a bit of it. Westlife Cliff is located towards the back of the cabgan island, is a great place to shoot photos.
There’s actually a story behind the name Westlife, if you already seen the music video of the Westlife Band entitled My Love, you’ll get it.
The local said that being in the Westlife Cliff? It feels like you are in the Westlife Band. Charot😅
So going back, during our visit, there were cottages near on the shoreline. My experience here was really quite fun. I really enjoyed my stay because I traveled most of Surigao’s tourist spots.
TURTLE ISLAND
Now let’s move on to the Turtle Island, like the other "Turtle Islands" in the country, is shaped like a turtle. You can also swim and visit a little cave while you're here.
But when we were there, we haven’t explore much about this island because it was more on rock and stones. For me its good for photos with the turtle shape background of it.
VANISHING ISLAND / SNAKE ISLAND
Now on our last but not the least, the Vanishing Island. It is actually connected from Turtle Island and can be seen the connection during low tide. Snake Island is also known as Vanishing Island. The waves around this small strip of beach are quite forceful, so be cautious if you decide to swim.
It's a great spot for photography, especially when the weather is nice. I had really enjoyed taking selfies and pictures with this mesmerizing, a breath taking experience.

It is said that you may walk from Vanishing Island to Turtle Island during low tide.
Beautiful Sandbar, right?
I was really mesmerized staring at the white sand, but being here in Vanishing Island is just a quick visit because during high tide, Vanishing Island is going to vanished!
Off to go, because the Island is going to vanish!
How to get there:
To get there, take a bus that travels through Barobo from Butuan City or Davao City. Take a tricycle from Barobo's bus terminal to the port, where you can rent a boat for an island hopping tour for P1,500 for three islands.
It comes highly recommended! The beach is immaculate, and the water is very clean. Three of the Philippines' most beautiful islands.
It's one of the nicest beaches in the Philippines in my opinion. Hope you enjoy reading!
