Before I started writing this post, I looked into the name or the origin of the word "Quibu", which is used to name a place in the province of Havana.
Honestly, I was expecting to find the traditional explanation that "Quibu" is an aboriginal word meaning this or that. But nowhere did I find any reference to this word for a sticky sound that I associate with the first inhabitants of Cuba. And in that area I believe Mayan descendants lived.
The Quibu River is a tributary that originates in the municipality of Boyero, and in its last stretch it is the natural border between the municipalities of Playa and Mariano, flowing into the Strait of Florida to the north of the territory of Havana.
The wooded shores mixed with. The presence of urban life creates a beautiful visual spectacle for the eyes of the unwarned passer-by. The reflection of all this artificial and natural nature in the soft waters of the Quibu creates a living aesthetic.
I think I have heard some musical texts and inspirations in honour of the waters of this famous river of the capital of all Cubans.
The river passes under a small bridge in the centre of the 5th avenue before reaching the mouth of the river, accompanied on one of its banks by buildings and trees which paint their reflections in the manner of the realist painters of the 19th century.
On the opposite bank, old tree trunks, lying like ancient warriors felled, whether by the hand of man or by the invisible axe of nature itself, are the remains of old warriors, and the river is a natural waterway.
Almost at the very mouth of the river, at the moment when I was taking my photographic report, a ritual (cleansing) was taking place in the middle of the day, led by a "Babalao", possibly to Oshun. possibly to Oshun. She dwells where the fresh and salt waters mix. Queen of the salty seas.
It is true that at present. The waters of the Quibu River are very polluted by the irresponsible action of the inhabitants of its banks, but the spectacle will always be beautiful and pleasing to the eye.

Miren que antes de ponerme s escribir este pos he indagado sobre el nombre o la procedencia de la palabra" Quibu" la cual sirve para dar nombre a un eio de la provincia Habana.
Sinceramente, esperé encontrarme .con con la tradicional explicación de que " Quibu" es una voz aborigen que significa tal o mas cual cosa. Pero en lugar alguno encontre referencia a esa Palabra de un sonido pegajoso que que asocio con los primeros habitantes de Cuba. Y por esa zona creo wue habitaban descendientes de Mayas
El Río Quibu es un afluente que nace por allá en el municipio Boyero, y que en su ultimo trayecto des frontera natural entre los municipios playa y Mariano, desembocando en el estrecho de la florida al norte de ese territorio habanero.
Las orillas boscosas mezcladas con. La presencia de la vida urbana dorma un bello espectáculo visual para los ojos del transeúnte no avisado. El reflejo de toda esa naturaleza artificial y natural en las blandas aguas del Quibu crea una estetica viviente
ue cambia a cada instante en dependencia de las condiciones climatológicas del entorno fluvial .
Creo haber oido algun texto musical e inspiraciones en honor a las aguas de este famoso Rio de la capital de todos los cubanos.
El Río pasa por debajo de un pequeño puente de centro descubierto ,de la quinta avenida antes de llegara a la desembocadura acompañado en una de sus riveras por edificaciones y árboles que que pintan sus reflejos a la manera de los pintores realistas del s siglo XlX.
En la orilla opuesta, viejos troncos de árboles ,yacen tendidos como antiguos guerreros abatidos.no se por la mano del hombre o por el hacha invisible de la propia naturaleza. .
Casi en la misma desembocadura en el momento que hacia mi reportaje fotografico se desarrollaba, a plena luz de mediodía, un ritual ( limpieza) dirigido por un "Babalao" , posiblemente a Oshun. Wue habita en en donde se mezclas las aguas dulces y las saladas.tegalo de du hermana Yemaya. Reina de los mares salados.
Es cierto que actualmente las aguas del Río Quibu estan muy contaminadas por la acción irresponsable de los habitantes de sus rivera, pero el espectáculo siempre va s ser hermoso y agradable a l vista.
