As.pinarrño at last, and therefore knowledgeable of some places in the city from the position always rushed and in transit traveler, there are places that for various reasons one is engraved in the memory.
Sometimes by other travelers or non-travelers we hear about some places and it seems alien to us without realizing that we have been there or we have stayed there.
Many times my entrance to the capital has been through metrobus P12, route that has its exit in the Parwqe El Curita and extends its route to Santiago de las Vegas.
And precisely 'El Curita Park' is one of those places that I heard about without knowing that I already knew it until one day someone told me about it as a reference for a meeting X one day, I do not remember if Y.
This emblematic park in downtown Havana, located in the neighborhood of San Bartolo and is in its quadrature guarded by the also well known streets Reina, Aguila, Dragones and Galeano. It is a space that replaced an old building in a very deplorable state around the year nineteen hundred and fifty-nine of the last century.
I was always interested in knowing why the name of that open space, wooded and with a gazebo in the center. And without consulting the official history, but with some elders of the surrounding area. I learned that in the building that was demolished there was a small printing press inherited by a student monk who was called "El Curita" and although he left his job after eight years, he kept that religious nickname.
El Curita printed ballots and other propaganda against the Batista regime and was assassinated for doing that job.
After the triumph of the revolution in the place, the State ordered the construction of the park, which was baptized with the name of the martyr.
This environment, which also serves as a vent to a piece of the city of downtown Havana, is one of the most active in the city. It is one of the most active of the capital of the country. For its four sides activity of different means of passenger transportation is constant from the early hours of the day until late at night.
I have also noticed that lately social activity has increased in the park. At first there were a few isolated people with various merchandise and objects for sale. But now it is much more dense and active. The place is practically invaded by small commercial establishments. Carts, and all kinds of peddlers, and merchandise both new and rickety from use. There is almost no space to walk on the sidewalks.
Around this space the city marks its usual rhythm of vehicles and passersby while on the benches some of those who met, talk, and others pass in a hurry to board some means of transport, or simply to shorten the path on the route they have chosen.
In the Curita Park I feel the fresh heartbeat of the city. For it is not a place of rest and languor. But of activity and exchange, which leaves us some intermittent spaces for stillness.

Como.pinarrño al fin, y por lo tanto conocedor de algunos lugares de la ciudad desde la posición siempre apurada y en tránsito del viajero , hay lugares que por diferentes motivos a uno se le quedan grabados en la memoria .
A veces por otros viajeros o no viajeros oímos hablar de algunos decesos lugares y nos parece ajenos si darnos cuenta de que hemos pasado por alli o hemos hecho estancia en lod mismos.
Muchísimas veces mi entrada a la capital ha sido a través metrobus P12 , ruta que tiene su salida en el.Parwqe El Curita y extiende su recorrido hasta Santiago de las Vegas.
Y precisamente 'el Parque del Curita " es uno decesos lugares del que uo oía hablar sin saber que ya lo conocia hasta que un día alguien me lo puso como referencia para un encuentro X un día no recuerdo si Y.
Este emblematico parque de centro Habana , ubicado en el barrio de San Bartolo y esta en su cuadratura custodiada por las también muy conocidas calles Reina, Aguila, Dragones y Galeano . Es un espacio que sustituyo a un antiguo edificio en estado muy deplorable alla por el año mil novecientos cincuenta y nueve del siglo.pasado.
Siempre estuve interesado en saber el porque el nombre de ese espacio abierto, arbolado y con una glorieta en el centro. Y sin consultar la historia oficial , sino con algunos ancianos del lod alrededores. Supe de que en el edificio que fue demolido había una pequeña imprenta heredada por un estudiante de monje al que le decidan ":el Curita " que aunque abandono los oficios despues de ocho años, arrastro aquel sobrenombre religioso.
El Curita imprimia boletas y otras propagandas en contra del régimen de Batista y fue asesinado,por hacer esa labor.
Al Triunfo de la revolución en el lugar , el Estado mando construir el parque, el cual fué bautizado con el nombre del mártir.
Este entorno que ademas sirve cono respiradero acun pedazo de la urbe de centro Habana. Es uno de lod mas activos de la capital del pais. Pue por sus cuatro laterales actividad de distintos medios de transportacion de pasajeros es constante desde las primeras horas del día hata avanzadas horas de la noche.
Tambien he notado que últimamente la actividad social ha crecido en el parque . Al principio se veian algunas personas aisladas con mercancias variadas y objetos de usos.a la venta. Pero ahora es mucha mas densa y activa. Pues el lugar esta practicamente invadido por pequeños establecimientos comerciales. Carretillas , y todo tipo de vendedores ambulantes , y mercancías tanto nuevas como desvencijacidas por el uso. Ya casi no hay espacio para caminar por las aceras.
Alrededor de este espacio la ciudad marca su ritmo habitual de vehículos y transeúntes mientras en los bancos algunos que se dieron cita, conversan, y otris pasan de prisa para abordar algun medio del transporte, o simplemente para acortar camino en la ruta que han elegido.
En el Parque del Curita .siento el latido fresco de la ciudad. Pues no es un lugar de reposo ni languides. Si no de actividad e intercambio,b que nos deja algunos espacios intermitentes para la quietud.
