When talking about a vacation to the city of Yogyakarta, one of the things that comes to mind is Prambanan temple... This temple is an icon of the city of Jogja that should not be missed. A temple that has a very famous legendary story is one of the places that must be visited when on vacation to the city of Yogyakarta. Last week I just went on a company outing... and one of the places we visited was Prambanan temple. Prambanan temple has a large courtyard filled with grass like on a soccer field. This area is usually a place for pre-wedding photos because it has a good spot. But this time what I did in the courtyard was playing games to strengthen cooperation between employees.
Prambanan Temple
Prambanan Temple is a Hindu temple left over from the Ancient Mataram Kingdom in the 9th century... Prambanan Temple has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The Prambanan temple complex is also known as the largest temple complex in Indonesia. In addition to being famous for its beauty and architectural splendor... Prambanan Temple is also widely known through a legend, namely the Legend of Roro Jonggrang.
Magnificent architecture
The beauty of Prambanan Temple is undeniable... The beautiful scenery like a painting comes from its magnificent architecture. Still amazed, how could a pile of stones become a temple building that is so magnificent and beautiful. The reliefs that tell the story of Ramayana add to the splendor of the temple building. This is my second time visiting Prambanan Temple and I still wonder, "who is the architect who made a temple as beautiful and magnificent as this?", "Is it true that this temple complex was made by one person in one night?". And there are still many more questions that arise every time I see Prambanan Temple.
The Legend of Roro Jonggrang
Prambanan Temple is always associated with the Legend of Roro Jonggrang which is a Javanese folk tale. It tells the story of a prince who fell in love with a beautiful princess... the princess was named Roro Jonggrang. The prince named Bandung Bondowoso intended to marry the princess. However, the princess gave him a very difficult condition, namely to build a thousand temples in one night. Prince Bandung agreed... With the help of the Jin, Bandung built the temples. However, Roro Jonggrang tricked him by making it seem like it was morning... Bandung who found out was furious. He then cursed the princess he loved to become a stone statue to complete the thousand temples.
It's always fun to visit Prambanan temple... even though this time my time is limited, but I feel very happy to be able to visit again and take some photos. Thank you in advance for reading my post about Prambanan Temple! Have a nice day!
