This year I decided to spend the last week of the year in a different way, as most of the time we spend it with the family. Our destination was Chapada Diamantina, where we left on 12/29/2022 and returned on 01/01/2023.
Leaving the State of Sergipe, we travel for about 9 hours to the first destination, the municipality of Lencóis/Bahia. Which is the main lodging base and also the city with the greatest offer of services, tourist agencies and restaurants among the tourist destinations of Chapada Diamantina.
After knowing a little about the city of Lencóis, our first adventure was to go on a trail to Ribeirão do Meio, the natural toboggan run of Chapada Diamantina. This trail lasted about 1 hour until you reach the Ribeirão do Meio river, on foot. But it was really worth it, we spent the rest of the morning enjoying it and of course I also went down the natural toboggan, too bad I didn't record this feat. 😅
In the afternoon, after lunch, we went to the postcard of Chapada Diamantina, Morro do Pai Inárcio, 26 km from Lençóis. And the scenery at the top of this mountain is really to fall in love with. The walk to Morro do Pai Inácio is among the most popular in Lençóis and, although it seems to be a very difficult climb, Pai Inácio is a possible walk for almost everyone. The trail that leads to the top of the hill is only 500 meters long, but it takes a little breath to overcome the climb. Nothing a few photo stops can't fix.
Chapada Diamantina is not only rich in waterfalls, but also in diverse geological formations. There are several caves and many are still not cataloged with their real extension. During our trip, we discovered the Lapa Doce Cave, which has an easily accessible trail that takes about 40 minutes to complete this tour. This was the destination I loved the most in Chapada Diamantina, as the geological formations formed inside the Cave are truly magical.
Finally, we met two waterfalls, the first one is Cachoeira Pai Inarcio, which is close to Morro Pai Inarcio, taking a trail of about 1 hour, all trails were done on foot. Arriving at the waterfall, we spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the river below the waterfall.
And the next day, we visited the Poço do Diabo Waterfall. To reach this destination, the trail was not long, but the path is difficult to access. There are three ways to access the waterfall: Go down the zipline, go down by rappel or go down following the stone trail. I didn't go down to the waterfall, because according to our guide the bath in it wasn't very good. Then, we return to bathe in a stretch before this waterfall.
Traveling is always good, especially if you are in contact with nature. Getting to know Chapada Diamantina was magical, and there are still many destinations to be explored on a next trip to this beautiful place.
[PT] Meu Destino de Final de Ano: Chapada Diamantina - Bahia/ Brasil
Este ano decidi passar a última semana do ano de uma forma diferente, pois na maioria das vezes passamos com a família. Nosso destino foi Chapada Diamantina, onde saímos dia 29/12/2022 e retornamos no dia 01/01/2023.
Saindo do Estado de Sergipe percorremos cerca de 9 horas de viajem até o primeiro destino, o municipio de Lencóis-Bahia. Que é a principal base de hospedagem e também a cidade com maior oferta de serviços, agências de turismo e restaurantes entre os destinos turísticos da Chapada Diamantina.
Após conhece um pouco da cidade de Lencóis nossa primeira aventura foi fazer uma trilha até Ribeirão do Meio, o tobogã natural da Chapada Diamantina. Essa trilha durou cerca de 1 hora até chega ao rio de Ribeirão do Meio, a pé. Mas valeu muito a pena passamos o resto da manhã aproveitando e é claro também desci no Tobogã natural, pena que não fiz nenhum registro desta proesa. 😅
No período da tarde, depois do almoço fomos ao cartão postal de Chapada Diamantina, o Morro do Pai Inárcio, distante 26km de Lençóis. E o cenário no topo desta montanha é mesmo de apaixonar. O passeio para o Morro do Pai Inácio está entre os mais populares de Lençóis e, apesar de parecer ser uma subida muito difícil, o Pai Inácio é uma caminhada possível para quase todo mundo. A trilha que leva ao topo do morro tem apenas 500 metros, mas é preciso um pouco de fôlego para vencer a subida. Nada que algumas paradas para fotos não resolvam.
A Chapada Diamantina é rica não só em cachoeiras, mas também diversas formações geológicas. Existe diversas grutas e muitas ainda não são catalogadas com sua real extensão. Conhecemos em nossa viajem a Gruta da Lapa Doce, que possui uma trilha de fácil acesso com cerca de 40 minutos para realizar este passeio. Este foi o destino que mais amei em Chapada Diamantina, pois as formações geologicas formadas no interior da Gruta são realmente mágicas.
Por fim, conhecemos duas cachoeiras a primeira a Cachoeira Pai Inarcio, que fica próximo ao Morro Pai Inarcio, fazendo uma trilha de cerca de 1 hora, todas as trilhas foram feitas a pé. Chegando a cachoeira passamos o resto da tarde aproveitando o rio abaixo da queda d'água.
E no dia seguinte, conhecemos a Cachoeira do Poço do Diabo. Para chegar a este destino a trilha não era longa, porém o caminho é de dificil acesso. Para ter acesso a cachoeira existem três maneiras: Descer pela tirolesa, descer por rapeu ou descer seguindo a trilha de pedras. Eu não desci até a cachoeira, pois segundo nosso guia o banho nela não era muito bom. Então, retornamos para tomar banho em um trecho antes desta cachoeira.
Viajar é sempre bom, principalmente se em contato com a natureza. Conhecer Chapada Diamantina foi mágico, e olha que ainda há muitos destinos a serem explorados em uma próxima viajem a este lindo lugar.
