One weekend my friends and I went on a trip accross Serbia. The purpose of our trip was to visit the Ovchar-Kablar gorge, to get acquainted with the local nature.
The Ovchar-Kablar gorge is located between the Ovchar and Kablar mountain ranges. This area is also called the Serbian Sacred Mountain, because there are many monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church in this area.
We booked a nice house on the banks of the West Morava River. We were surrounded by white high cliffs, a very gorgeous place. You can see many pleasure boats with tourists quietly sailing along the river, and ducks as well. The river was cold for swimming, so we limited ourselves to admiring the nature.
On the day of arrival, we took a short walk to the source of water called Banjski Potok. It is very difficult to reach this place, as there is no good road and all the time you have to go uphill. The water in this place is very clean and beautiful, nature is not touched by the crowds of tourists. This is what I really like.
The next day we visited the observation deck of the Ovchar-Kablar gorge. The road, as well as to the Banjski Potok, is very bad, you need to go on foot. On the way, we enjoyed the pleasant coolness of the forest, peace and quiet. A stunning view from the observation deck will take your breath away! The observation deck is fenced with a metal structure, since the height in this place is decent, I was scared to approach the edge.
There are a lot of such picturesque places in Serbia; it often reminds me of nature in Russia. I advise you to visit this amazing corner of beautiful nature if you ever come to Serbia!
