I have been thinking about visiting somewhere for a few days. University life is nearing its end, before that it is good to hang out with friends. But the biggest obstacle in our plan was the busyness. Time is passing by with a lot of trouble managing exams, assignments, and presentations.
One day we suddenly planned and left for Dhaka's Mawa ferry port. As time was short, it was decided to go somewhere nearby. As such, Mawa was the most preferred place. We can spend some time on the banks of the Padma river, and the newly constructed Padma Bridge can also be seen. But one of the reasons for our trip was to eat fresh Hilsa from the Padma river.

Since we have a friend's car, we started with it. The distance from our location to Mawa Ghat is about 60 km. So should reach within 40/50 minutes. But due to traffic jams in Dhaka city, it takes 2 hours to reach Mawa ferry ghat. However, after the traffic jam in Dhaka, the road of Mawa Expressway is quite beautiful. It is designed like European roads. We left at noon and reached the destination at 2 pm.
On reaching Mawa, our first task was to explore the surrounding areas first. We started walking on the river bank after feeling slightly refreshed. The huge Padma river is full of water. Especially during the rainy season, the river has regained its youth. Only water and water as far as the eye can see.

Padma Bridge, the pride of Bangladesh, could be seen very clearly from Mawa Ghat. Earlier, the people of the southern part of Bangladesh had to suffer due to the lack of bridges. Hours of people's time were wasted on ferries. But due to this bridge, people's suffering has reduced a lot. Earlier it used to take 7/8 hours to go from Dhaka to Barisal, now it takes 4 hours. To be honest this Padma Bridge has improved the standard of living of people.
It was nice to sit and chat by the river. As the sky was cloudy, there was no sunshine. A cold wind was blowing all around. I saw many people renting boats and going around the river.
Now it's our turn to eat Hilsa. Padma hilsa is available at Mawa Ferry Ghat and is very delicious to eat. Visiting several shops, we bought a Hilsa and prepared it to eat. The hilsa eating part was quite fun.

After walking around, eating, and drinking all day, it's time to return. We reached the destination by sleeping in the car. This tour was quite good for one day. We enjoyed it a lot. Maybe it was the last tour with friends during varsity life that further enhanced our memory pages.
Have a good day. Thank you !
