Imagine a landscape: a tiny hamlet in the middle of a vast farmland surrounded by trees and running water channels. In the backdrop, you can see a huge mountain wall laden with snow as far as you can see. And while you are imagining, imagine no motorist in the sight and no cacophony of citylife.
That’s where we are staying right now. It took me a little effort to locate and ‘zero in’ this place for the owner of this place likes not to promote or advertise himself much. Like his organic farms, he wants his guests to be organic: coming on their own to the farmhouse.
The farmhouse was literally empty when we reached here. Though it can accomodate 8-10 people, we found it all for ourselves upon arrival. The homestay looks basic from outside but the interiors have been designed with great care and affection. The owner, Ekant is a trained architect and that reflects in the great job that he has done.

Big glass windows soak the light from outside and fill your room with sunshine and joy. Warm sunny light entering your room on a wintry day is a feeling that is best felt than explained.
We had planned to see His Holiness Dalai Lama’s temple but we were so drenched in joy and sunshine that we kept sleeping in the open farm right next to our cottage. Maybe tomorrow we will go.

Tomorrow we will try to go closer to these snow clad mountains and hopefully I shall come back here with more and better photographs.
