Spending my last days in Spain before catching my flight to Germany, I decided to visit Sitges.
The main reason? My mom used to live there for a while, and she told me I had to see the place where she once called home.
I went with a couple of friends, and we parked in an area close to the beach. From there, we walked under the blazing sun—almost 36°C—which was intense, to say the least. The area where we left the car was quite modern and pretty, but the real charm of Sitges lies just behind the Parròquia de Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla.
What surprised me was discovering an entire old town hidden behind the church. Narrow streets, whitewashed buildings, and that unmistakable coastal architecture—it’s the part of Sitges where most of the tourism happens.
You’ll find boutique shops, traditional Spanish food, bars, nightclubs, plenty of ice cream shops, and a wide variety of places to explore.
One thing I tried was a glass of horchata, a sweet, refreshing drink that’s traditional in Spain—and it hit the spot perfectly on such a hot day.
Now I understand why my mom kept telling me to visit this place. I really liked it—it was worth the trip.
Even though the visit was short because of the unbearable heat, Sitges left a great impression on me. I’ll definitely have to come back someday to explore it more.
See you around!!
