This was a real welcome, you don't know how rewarding it was for me and Eileen after walking 2 hours up to La Pantalla and arriving with all this fog all over the place.
I remember the first time I camped here (although this time we couldn't camp and as you keep reading you will know) we arrived in the afternoon and the sun was very nice, the place felt great and it was also great for me being a first time camper to have such a nice day.
Esto si fue una verdadera bienvenida, no saben lo gratificante que fue para mi y Eileen después de subir 2 horas caminando a La Pantalla y llegar con toda esta neblina en todo el lugar.
Recuerdo la primera vez que acampe aquí (aunque esta vez no pudimos acampar y mientas sigas leyendo lo sabrás) llegamos en tardecita y el sol estaba muy bonito, se sentía muy bien el lugar y fue genial también para mi siendo primera vez acampando tener un día así tan agradable.
However, I remember that I took a lot of clothes for the cold that was supposedly there but it was not so and if I am more sincere I really expected cold, because of the altitude and everything that I had been told but it was not so.
Sin embargo recuerdo que lleve mucha ropa para el frio que supuestamente había pero no fue así y si les soy mas sincero de verdad esperaba frio, por la altura y todo lo que me habían contado pero no fue así.
This time, entering La Pantalla with that beautiful view of the fog all over the place was fascinating for me. I am a fan of the fog, I like the atmosphere it leaves in the environment, the sensation and the coldness it can leave and to receive it, enjoy it and feel it was the best of that moment there, sincerely we enjoyed it a lot.
Esta vez, entrar a La Pantalla con esa hermosa vista de la neblina en todo el lugar fue fascinante para mi. Soy fan de la neblina, me gusta la atmosfera que deja en el ambiente, la sensación y el frio que puede dejar y recibirla, disfrutarla y sentirla fue lo mejor de ese momento allí, sinceramente lo disfrutamos mucho.
Since I entered I knew that the fog would not last long because I did not see when it arrived because we arrived and it was already there, so I did not know the magnitude of how dense it was.
However, it lasted a long time and since I saw it I did not hesitate to take all possible photos of the place and save that great moment for Eileen and me, to see The Screen completely covered with fog and feel the cold that it brought in it.
Desde que entre sabia que esa neblina no iba a durar mucho porque no vi cuando llego porque llegamos y ya estaba, entonces no sabia la magnitud de lo densa que era.
Sin embargo duro mucho y desde que la vi no dude en sacar todas las fotos posibles del lugar y guardar ese gran momento para Eileen y para mi, ver La Pantalla completamente cubierta de neblina y sentir ese frio que traía en ella.
We also took advantage of the moment to rest and continue talking about many things while we watched all this.
Aprovechamos también el momento para descansar y seguir hablando de muchas cosas mientras veíamos todo esto.
Before going to take a shower to remove all the sweat we had from the climb we sat here and it was the best.
As the mist gradually went away we could see progressively all the city of San Felipe, Independencia and Cocorote.
There we lasted a while talking and commenting what we saw from afar and would be surprised to know that much can be seen from there, even the Cumaripa dam that is quite far from the city could be seen from there.
Antes de irnos a duchar para quitarnos todo el sudor que teníamos por la subida nos sentamos aquí y fue lo mejor.
Al irse poco a poco la neblina pudimos observar de manera progresiva toda la cuidad de San Felipe, Independencia y Cocorote.
Allí duramos un buen rato mas hablando y comentando lo que veíamos desde lo lejos y se sorprenderían al saber que tanto se puede ver desde allí, hasta la represa cumaripa que queda bastante retirada de la cuidad se podía observar desde allí.
Then they put up the tent we ordered and we stayed outside for a while to have a snack, some apples, strawberries and pineapples to regain strength, take a shower and lie down for a while.
Después nos pusieron la carpa que pedimos y nos quedamos un rato afuera para merendar, unas manzanitas, fresas y piñas para recuperar fuerzas, irnos a duchar y recostarnos un poco.
The sad thing is that we could not camp as we wanted, the weather suddenly became cloudy, it was raining in the head of the cold and it was quite distressing for us and those who were up there. We had to quickly vacate the farm La Pantalla and go down progressively in a 4x4 to get out of all that danger zone. It has been raining a lot here and hopefully it is only that and does not pass to greater.
The descent was quite strong, between rain, mud, things going from one place to another and the most surprising thing was to pass the river already in flood in that 4x4 and get out without any problem, it was really another great experience for both of us and obviously we will never forget it, however it was not so bad, we consider that the whole day was pretty good despite that. pd: I could not take pictures of that moment because we only thought of saving everything and leave as fast as possible and not leave anything on the road and obviously we protect our phones as best as possible.
Lo triste es que no pudimos acampar como quisimos, el clima de un momento a otro se nublo, estaba lloviendo en la cabezara del río y fue bastante angustioso para nosotros y los que estábamos arriba.
Tuvimos que desalojar rápidamente la finca La Pantalla y bajar progresivamente en un 4x4 para salir de toda esa zona de peligro.
Ha estado lloviendo mucho por aquí y esperemos que solo sea eso y no pase a mayores.
La bajada fue bastante fuerte, entre lluvia, barro, las cosas yendo de un lugar a otro y lo mas sorprendente fue pasar el rio ya en crecida en esa 4x4 y salir sin problema, de verdad fue otra gran experiencias para los dos y obviamente jamás se nos va a olvidar, sin embargo no fue tan malo, consideramos que todo el día fue bastante bueno pese a eso.
pd: no pude tomar fotos de ese momento porque solo pensamos en guardar todo y salir lo mas rápido y no dejar nada por el camino y obviamente resguardamos lo mejor posible nuestros teléfonos.
