Greetings, community!
Summer is here! The sun is shining, temperatures are reaching up over 25°C, and the days are long with sunsets around 10 o'clock. The light stays with us until midnight, and everything feels like it's moving at a slower pace. After a few hours of work, I come home and prepare dinner, and I feel like I've barely used half the day.
My husband often suggests we take walks around town. Today, instead of cooking after work, we decided to go to a place called Guslandsutmarka. It's very popular all year, but summer is particularly nice there because there are no slippery rocks, and we don't need to wear heavy winter clothes. It's easy to walk in comfortable shoes.
I was tired today and didn’t want to do any activities after work, but my husband wanted some company, so I forced myself to go with him. However, as soon as I got close to nature, my mood completely changed, and I felt uplifted. That is the magic of Norwegian nature.
It was quite close to where we live; we drove about 12 kilometers to get there. After parking the car, we had to walk 1 kilometer to the beach, and then climb up a small mountain called Varden, which is another kilometer away.
The path was full of nice wildflowers and berries like raspberries, red currants, sloe, and wild cherries.
The beach is just like a mini beach few young ladies and their families were on the beach sunbathing.
Some young people were busy with watersports and boating.
Nobody had climbed that small mountain,
Nice smooth rocks all around the area,
Like I said, some places on the path are challenging, and we have to make our own way carefully.
Finally, my husband made it to the top. I had a ways to go and was a little breathless and just resting awhile.
I took it easy and soon enough I made it to the top.
I found the place where I did my meditation when I visited this place..
during the 2nd World War Germans built numbers of military lookout points like this; many of them still exist all around the coast.
Even though it was related to the military, it is a very peaceful place and very easy to connect with the universe through all the elements. For me, it is a wonderful experience each time.
I sat down and balanced my breath, and did my regular meditation sun was shining, but I wasn't feeling hot or sweaty.
After getting my energy refilled, we walked around the summit.
I love those rocks that make a big, steep wall from the sea bottom to the top of the mountain, approximately 50 meters high. Metal hooks and chains are positioned in a few places for people who practice rock climbing up the vertical slope.
The place where you can sit to experience nature's stillness, also feeling very close to the universe.
The structure of the old lookout center.
In the distance, the hills to the northwest.
The natural seating place rocky sofa with a pillow.
We started our way back to car.
some european mountain ash berries
from here there is a wide path to the parking area. people with cabins use trolleys such as this one to carry their luggage and food etc
some wild oregano. it probably had spread from the garden around a nearby cabin
I just turned back and looked at that small mountain to say thank you for today.
While driving back, we passed some farms and two churches, one of which was very old and made of stone.
and a newer one standing very proudly beside a field of golden wheat soon ready for harvest.
