¿Sabías qué? En la habana vieja en el mismo casco histórico de la ciudad, se encuentra ubicado un museo de la pintura mural con su inmueble colonial y donde viajarás al tiempo admirando fragmentos de arte del siglo XIX. Interesante, ¿verdad?
Pues además les enseñaré una exposición personal de un artista italiano mostrando en el lienzo "Las cuatro esquinas del mundo esférico" en Cuba. ¡Acompáñame en esta maravillosa aventura 😉!
Starting my journey at Obispo 117-119 (Mural Painting Museum), I’ll tell you that this building was constructed in the second half of the 16th century. Its architecture is deeply colonial, typical of that era.
Despite modifications over time, the house still preserves its original structure intact, which is why it’s considered Havana’s oldest surviving home, according to historians and museum experts.
Comenzando mi viaje por la edificación de Obispo 117‑119 (Museo de la Pintura Mural) les comentaré que fue construido por la segunda mitad del siglo XVI. La arquitectura es muy colonial típica de su época.
A pesar de las modificaciones sufridas a lo largo del tiempo la vivienda mantiene intacta la estructura original, por lo que es considerada la casa más antigua de La Habana, según investigaciones y museólogos.
This unique museum—the only one of its kind in Cuba—boasts remarkable remnants of the past: intricate checkerboard floors, partially preserved murals, and ancient sculptures.
Today, it also houses several archaeological research officesdedicated to studying and preserving these historical discoveries.
Presenta muchos fragmentos de pisos ajedrezados, murales parciales y esculturas antiguas. Único de su tipo en el país, actualmente conserva varias oficinas arqueológicas de hallazgos históricos.
The upper floor of the house features glass display cases filled with fascinating artifacts from the colonial era. Inside, you’ll find delicate European dolls, ornate cups and pitchers with classic hand-painted designs, a rare children’s chamber pot (bacín), and decorative plates —all brought to the island by Havana’s earliest European residents.

After finishing the first tour, I rushed off to meet Italian artist Martin Faure, who was about to debut his first solo exhibition in Havana titled 'The Four Corners of the Spherical World'.
Saliendo del primer recorrido, pues fui corriendo a un encuentro con el artista italiano llamado Martin Faure que iba a realizar su primera exposición personal en La Habana, nombrada "Las cuatro esquinas del mundo esférico".
Martin’s canvases explore a heterotopic vision of Cuban reality, where seemingly unrelated figures and objects coexist within a single staged landscape.
Perhaps through the recurring number four (symbolizing the square)—ever-present yet often invisible to the naked eye—Faure aims to metaphorize his own cosmic trinity and the unspoken yearnings of the island.
Las telas de Martin desarrollan la hipótesis de una mirada heterotópica sobre parte de la realidad cubana, donde los personajes y objetos sin relación aparente cohabitan en un mismo paisaje escenificado.
Tal vez con el número cuatro (que simboliza al cuadrado) que se encuentra en todo nuestro alrededor, aun no siendo apreciable a simple vista, Faure quiere metaforizar su propia trinidad cósmica y deseos de la isla.

As you can see, the creator is super friendly. We exchanged thoughts about art and I learned so much about his unique perspective on the artistic world.
