I wanted to title the post as 'My Failed Attempt at Travel Blogging', but that's such a negative way to start a blog. Anyway here we go. On 6th Jun2025 I was informed that we (my family and I) are going to the NSCB Island. Not asked if I wanted to come and join, but informed.
They decided that I would go with them. Because if it was upto me I would still be sitting my ass down and working on a tricky project.
And that's how I got to visit this place. The Island is still referred to by its old name the Ross Island. (Has nothing to do with the Friend character, but named after some adventures or voyager, I guess.)
We started from our home at 0800Hrs, factoring in the traffic conditions and the fact that the boat service would start only by 0915Hrs. But surprisingly, we got to the Marina Park early, with less traffic. That means we had to wait. Luckily, there was a park that made the wait easier for the kids. My little one was ready and running around the park. With options like swings, seesaws, and so many fun things, he was stuck with the slide. I am not sure, but he slid at least 20-25 times. Right when we were about to call the boat service, they called to inform us that the show is on and we should be leaving for the island in 10 minutes.
The boat came in, and the guy handed me a torn-up life jacket while other members of the family were enjoying the moment. I was getting worried about the emergency situation. In case the boat goes down or stops in midwater, what should be my course of action? I am telling you, I am not built for all the travelling and fun. But I do know how to appreciate and enjoy a nice view. And that's exactly what I did. I turned off the critic inside me for 3 hrs and enjoyed the time with family.
The deer were super friendly.
My little one insisted that we take one home as pet. He even named one Deer.D
Here's my pathetic attempt at documenting my travel.
This one was just trying to figure out how to use mobile camera settings.
Another random click.
On the way to LightHouse. I wish the quality of the camera were better. This one has the potential to be wallpaper. Very likely a missed opportunity.
This one reminded me of the image from an old calendar we had.
And I spent an hour in such a beautiful spot. It was a blissful hour. And the cherry on top was no notification or call for that one hour. It was a huge Win.
Hey Folks,
I guess I can add travel blogger to the list now. Just kidding, I am not cut out for all this. Also, I am really very sorry about the bad camera quality and the portrait mode pics. I mean, landscapes were equally bad, but what can I do now except wish for a better phone ;)
Maybe my next visit will have quality images.
Images were taken from Samsung-M32, a phone I realised is not meant for these kinds of activities.
