How are you all? I hope you are in good and healthy condition. This trip will take us to an area in Indonesia which is still ruled by the king, namely Yogyakarta. The government system in this area is different from other regions in Indonesia, because this area is very special.
Long story short, why is this area special? Because in the past, this region was born before Indonesia, then during the war, Indonesia received a lot of aid and debt (weak economy), which was supported by the Kingdom of Yogyakarta. So, gradually, this area has its own strength.
Because it has a royal system in the region, of course it has a lot of assets. like one of the assets owned by this palace, namely Taman Sari. As its beautiful name suggests, Taman Sari is a place where beauty is put together, a resting place for kings, perhaps almost all kingdoms have a beautiful place for entertainment.
Taman Sari is so beautiful, it has several places that are connected to each other, not just as a place to entertain people in the palace, but also as a place of refuge from enemies. It is said that Taman Sari and the palace are actually connected and can be reached from an underground passage, but the passage is currently undergoing major renovations for restoration.
The place is beautiful with characteristics of the Yogyakarta kingdom, an attractive design and this never changes from time to time. The building is still protected as a regional asset by the government. It has several unique spots which make Taman Sari always busy with visitors, eager to see the glory of the Yogyakarta Palace.
One thing that is unique and rarely discussed is how Sultan Hamengkubuwono was very interested in kepel trees. All the trees in Taman Sari use a type of kepel tree which was widely cultivated at the Yogyakarta palace. I don't know the exact reason, however, Sultan Hamengkubuwono chose the largest type of kepel tree in Taman Sari. The king's preferences couldn't possibly be opposed, right?
This place is the largest bathhouse owned by the Yogyakarta Kingdom and is still used today. Even though it is open to the public, there are certain days when it turns out that this place will be emptied and sterilized for royal use. Of course, a place as beautiful as this cannot possibly not be used by the owner.
The water is so clear and several large fountains make this place very beautiful. The details of some of the statues give this place a 'magical power' that cannot be conveyed through a few photos. It's just that you can feel that power when you are in that place. Maybe because this place is history and a witness to the journey of a Kingdom that existed several hundred years ago.
The heyday of a kingdom can be explained from a place called 'Taman Sari', how they had enough money and high social status in that area. Until now, this kingdom still carries out traditions and is also steeped in Javanese customs. Even now, this place is still used to purify 'something', such as when used during the 'one night of Suro'.
With sunlight and blue skies, this place is very beautiful to visit. Actually, the feeling of wanting to plunge into the pool is very desirable because considering that the city of Yogyakarta is so hot in the summer, you feel very hot and want to play in the water. But, of course that's not allowed, considering that this is a historical place in Yogyakarta, especially Indonesia.
