Hello everyone and a big welcome to our new community @worldmappin !🤗 When I heard that the Pinmapple community was shutting down I was sad like a lot of people here on Hive but the news about @worldmappin brought back my travel enthusiasm and made me very happy again, so let's start a new journey today!
The previous month I had a lot of work and a lot of events that I will write about in the next blogs, but now I am here again and happy to share with you the places I have been. When I last wrote about my trip to the small town of Lazarevac in central Serbia, I left one special place for the end. It is the log cabin church of St. George and it is a place that I have never heard of before.
When we visited the surroundings of the small town of Lazarevac in central Serbia, we were delighted with the cleanliness and nature, so we visited around. The road took us to a green area and then I noticed a wooden fence called "taraba" and saw that it was open. It said log cabin church.
I had never seen a log cabin church before so we went inside.
Words cannot describe the peace and quiet you feel when you enter the spacious yard.
It's as if all worries and fatigue suddenly disappear and you feel very comfortable. This is fascinating especially to me because I am not very religious and I look at everything from a realistic side, I do not attribute it to a miracle. And here, in reality, everything was so unreal. 😊
In the yard there was an old house, a well, an old bell tower...
And a log cabin church, a small wooden house.
I was very interested in finding out when it was built, so I found information that it was dedicated to Saint George and was built in the middle of the 19th century. It is interesting that the villagers carried it on their backs to this place to protect it from the Turks.
It seemed like no one comes here and it's been locked for years, and then I tried to open the door and was surprised to find it unlocked.
There were icons inside, it is neat and I saw that people left money on the icons, which means that the church was visited.
When we went outside, my children also wanted to see the well. We lowered the water bucket and then pulled it out, it was full of water and it was like magic for my children. They washed their hands and enjoyed the moment. 😊
Life is made up of small joys, discovering new places that have their own stories and bring you new impressions. I enjoyed the day with my family there.
