What is Baluarte Park?
According to the locals and caretaker of the park. The name Baluarte is suggested is came from the Spanish which means (Baluarte or Watchtower). The watchtower and other structure found here was built during the early 1800s. As you visit the site there’s a remnant of some walls found in the place. Aside from that the reason behind building this is to warn of Moron pirates coming. Today the place is well preserved and become a park for locals and tourists to relax, refresh and enjoy the stunning view of the sea. As the place is like a sanctuary it will give a serenity that gives peace and calm to the mind. The Baluarte Park is located beside the municipal building of the Aloguinsan. There is a hill where you can find the park location.
How to Get to the Baluarte Park?
When you are in Cebu City, you can take a bus going to Aloguinsan. But if you have a private car, you can straightforward to Aloguinsan. It's been a long drive and travel but you will be mesmerized by the places you pass by. If you are already at Aloguinsan Park is not too far you can ask locals about the place and they will tell you where it is. It's just a short walk to the park.

It's been a long journey travel but when I was already at the entrance of the park, I felt the serenity and the cold air breeze of the park. It's like a sanctuary where I find peace and calm aside from, I was amazed by the stunning views of the place from its greenly surrounding to its sea views. For me, it's a perfect place to relax and refresh. Aside from that, I was amazed by the story behind the structure found in the park as the tour guide explained to us about the place before it became a park. It's not just a destination but it is a historical heritage that cannot be forgotten but it was preserved and well maintained for the next generation.
