The Malecón in Havana, Cuba, is a place of encounters, farewells, longings and memories. A wall to contain the sea, uncontrollable, on the shore of the coast of the city of Havana.
The Malecón is a long promenade and the favourite place for many to sit and enjoy the view of the sea, to reflect, to romance 🥰, to have a good time with friends and even to fish. At dusk you can always see some people with their rods fishing on the wall, apparently that is the best time to do it. Malecón is also a large avenue that connects two municipalities, which makes this area a very busy and well-known geographical point in the capital.
On my birthday I decided to come here with my husband and my little girl to enjoy the sunset and spend a pleasant and relaxing time with my family. The moment when the sun sets behind the horizon is for me the most beautiful time to be by the sea. There are people who also prefer to sit and enjoy the sunrise, although you have to take shelter at midday or in the afternoon because at that time the sun is too strong, usually when it gets dark is when more people come to sit on this great wall.
We can also enjoy the view of the city. In front of the Malecón there are many buildings and houses, some of them quite old, as well as monuments and parks, a pleasant architectural ensemble. There are also several hotels, and from where we were you could see the Riviera and Cohiba hotels in the distance.
The most amazing thing about this magic hour is the beautiful view of the sky when the sunlight changes its hue and reflects off the sea. That view, accompanied by the soft sound of the waves crashing against the wall, makes me want to stay here for many hours.
Although we decided to leave when it started to get dark because we still had a long way to go back, and we could always go back to the Malecón.
It was a very nice day, and a nice memory to treasure.

El Malecón de La Habana, Cuba, es un lugar de encuentros, despedidas, añoranzas y recuerdos. Un muro de para contener al mar, incontenible, a la orilla de la costa de la ciudad de La Habana.
El Malecón es un paseo marítimo de gran extensión y el lugar preferido de muchos para sentarse a disfrutar la vista del mar, para reflexionar, romancear 🥰, pasar un buen rato compartiendo entre amigos e incluso pescar. Al anochecer siempre se puede ver a algunas personas con sus cañas pescar sobre el muro, al parecer esa es la mejor hora para hacerlo. Malecón es además una gran avenida que conecta dos municipios, lo que convierte esta zona en un punto geográfico muy transitado y conocido en la capital.
El día de mi cumpleaños decidí venir aquí con mi esposo y mi niña para disfrutar del atardecer y pasar un momento agradable y relajado en familia. El momento en el que el sol se esconde tras del horizonte es para mí el más bonito para estar junto al mar. Hay personas que también prefieren sentarse a disfrutar del amanecer, aunque hay que resguardarse en el horario del mediodía o la tarde porque a esas horas el sol está demasiado fuerte, por lo general cuando anochece es cuando más personas vienen a sentarse en este gran muro.
También se puede disfrutar de la ciudad. Frente al Malecón hay muchas edificaciones y viviendas, algunas de ellas bastante antiguas, también monumentos y parques, un agradable conjunto arquitectónico. Además, hay varios hoteles, desde donde nos encontrábamos se podía ver en la distancia los hoteles Riviera y Cohiba.
Lo más asombroso de esta hora mágica es la hermosa vista del cielo cuando la luz del sol va cambiando de tonalidad y se refleja en el mar. Esa vista, acompañada del suave sonido de las olas al chocar contra el muro, hace que quiera quedarme aquí muchas horas.
Aunque nosotros decidimos irnos cuando empezó a oscurecer porque todavía nos quedaba mucho camino por recorrer de regreso, y siempre podemos volver al Malecón.
Fue un día muy bonito, y un lindo recuerdo para atesorar.
