How are you all, I hope you are doing well. Today I will share a very important travel experience with you. I hope you will learn a lot from this travel experience and you will like it very much. The travel experience that I will share today is the travel experience of the aesthetically designed Kushtia Municipality Building.
You will be surprised to see the Kushtia Municipality building, but it is different and unique from all the municipalities in Bangladesh. This aesthetic architectural style of Kushtia Municipality will impress anyone of you. It is also known as Satish Sahar Zamindar Bari of Kushtia Municipality. Because you will be surprised to know that the main iconic building of Kushtia Municipality was previously a Zamindar Bari. The owner of this Zamindar Bari was Satish Saha. Many also knew it as Satish Sahar Zamindar Bari. After the partition of India on the basis of religion in 1947, the Hindu Zamindar left Bangladesh and went to India. After that, this Zamindar Bari came under the purview of the government.
Later, it was under the responsibility of the Pakistani government and after that, the municipality of Kushtia district, which was separated from Nadia district in Bangladesh, was established in this aesthetic building. Every history and tradition is mixed here. Although this building is now a government work, every brick of this building is like a silent witness to history. I have been able to learn a lot by traveling here and have seen a lot. Which gave my travel experience a unique twist. Let's discuss what I saw here.
First, I and a friend of mine rode a motorcycle to Kushtia city. We rode a motorcycle because our neighboring district, Kushtia, is our own district, Meherpur. The distance from Meherpur to Kushtia is not very far, so we rode a motorcycle. I was dieting on the motorcycle and a friend of mine, his name was Sajeeb, was sitting behind me. We both rode the motorcycle on the right and started our journey towards Kushtia on the very green winding road. After traveling to Kushtia, we were fascinated by the beautiful roads of Kushtia. Later, when we reached Kushtia city, we felt very good and happy to see that familiar city. Our goal was to visit Kushtia Municipality, so we came from Choudharhas More to Majampur More. The only reason for coming through Choudharhas More was that we entered Kushtia from Gangni Upazila of Meherpur district through Alamdanga. Then, after we reached Majampur, we moved a little ahead of the city, passing by Majampur. We saw the municipality gate ahead. Seeing the gate of the municipality, I felt a sense of peace in my mind. Because on one side of the gate, the image of Kazi Nazrul and on the other side, Rabindranath Tagore were painted. They were painted with pebbles. It looked amazing. It is good to tell you that Kushtia city is the residence of Rabindranath. Rabindranath has his own house in Shilaidah here and Rabindranath Tagore has visited this district many times. Therefore, the people of this district hold Rabindranath in a special place.
Along with this, Kazi Nazrul is also not popular with the people of this country and the people of this district. It is known that Kazi Nazrul Islam has also come to this district many times before. So both Kazi Nazrul Islam and Rabindranath Tagore are in a special place of respect for the people of this country. So we saw the images of these two great people at the main gate of this municipality, which fascinated me. Then my friend and I slowly entered the gate. Upon entering, I saw a sculpture built in memory of the Liberation War of Independent Bangladesh. I was very happy to see it. Although I did not see the Liberation War, I can feel the spirit of that Liberation War again by seeing the sculpture. This is an extraordinary experience. We observed the sculpture very well and kept looking around it. Right behind the sculpture, a museum has been built on the initiative of the Mayor of Kushtia Municipality. The building of the museum looks like a very old architectural style, which is really very charming. The structure of the building and the terracotta work on the outside, all together, look like an ancient monument. But unfortunately, the museum was closed on the day we went. So we couldn't go inside the museum and see everything. It would have been more comforting if we could have gone inside the museum and seen everything. But from the outside, I think the museum has the most notable things inside and there are artifacts on the side. If I get a chance, I will try to show it to you another day.
Now let's talk about the beautiful iconic main building of the municipality. This beautiful main building is located right behind the museum. As soon as I saw the main building, I felt like I was looking at a unique European landmark. Because anyone can understand that it is very beautiful and aesthetic. And you cannot understand how beautiful and aesthetic it is without seeing it.
There are terracotta paintings on each wall and the aesthetic architectural style makes it easily different from other buildings. We kept looking around and sharing those beautiful things with you and sharing its photos with you on my mobile phone. My friend and I were impressed by the beauty of this building. Because this building is capable of impressing anyone. Its architectural style will impress anyone.
When you see each of the latticed doors of this building, it seems that it has a past beauty associated with it. When you see each window and door, it seems that I am looking at a door or window of some European architecture. The terracotta work on each window is a unique form of beauty. So my friend and I enjoyed it very much. In front of the main building that we are talking about, a badminton court has been built by the Kushtia Municipality. Which looks great and aesthetic. Also, to enhance the beauty of this building, many flower trees have been planted in front of and around the building. Which I like very much. Everyone of you who live near this place should visit it.
Then we went to the back side of the main building. Going there, we saw that there are several important points there. The most important point among them is the Mayor's Building. The Mayor of this Mayor's Building does his office. And a little to the side of it is the Women's Corner, which is not usually seen in other municipalities. The Women's Building was built later but was built in accordance with the architecture of the main aesthetic building. But what if it is built, it will not match the earlier architecture in any way. Because the earlier constructions were the most important and beautifully and perfectly built. I think there is a royal feeling in such buildings in the past which is not possible to get in them today no matter how much money you spend on a house. So it must be accepted that the earlier architecture is truly royal architecture. Later, we came out of that place and went to the back side of the main building and the Mayor's Building, where we saw a beautiful pond. This pond seems to complete the landlord's house. Because the common feature of every landlord's house is to have a pond. It seems that the pond is also telling about it. The bank around the pond is made of concrete and there is a concrete staircase to go down to the pond. Seeing these reminds me of the old palaces that we have only heard about in stories but have not actually seen, it seemed like we were actually seeing them. My friend and I were really impressed by looking inside and around the Kushtia Municipality. Which I cannot share with you.
Then we saw a wonderful thing. It is named "In Search of Roots". "In Search of Roots" is a terracotta of Bengali culture on the wall in the area surrounded by banyan trees next to the pond, which I was really fascinated by. Seeing it, I felt like I could feel my Bengali culture. In this terracotta, first there is an image of Bengali women, then there is an image of Bengali mothers working hard, then I saw Bengali girls using a paddle to pound rice and separating the rice from the husk with a sieve. Then what liberated me the most was an important image of rice being extracted from the paddy with a dheenki which reminded me of my past, of Bengali culture. Then I saw an image of Bengali women fetching water in pitchers. There are many other images here, such as plowing the field with a cow and then bringing the new wife in a palanquin. All of them are intrinsically linked to Bengali culture. Since they showcase our Bengali culture, this corner has been named "In Search of Roots".
Then we walked around inside the Kushtia Municipality. I saw many flowering trees. Beautiful flowers were blooming. It looks very beautiful and the flowers have brought out a charming beauty. I was happy to see them. The next thing we saw was the municipality mosque. A very beautiful mosque has been built here for praying. Which really impressed me and I liked it a lot. I liked seeing the municipality mosque a lot and I started enjoying it from a distance. In a word, I am impressed by everything in the Kushtia Municipality. My friend and I enjoyed it very much. I hope you will like these too. I hope you will like the pictures we share. Please comment on how you liked my new building.
