Hello people, I was walking today and came across something interesting that I want to share with you. Namely, this is the Ancient Necropolis in Budva (Montenegro), it is located west of the Old Town, next to the hotel "Avala". Potice from the 5th century BC.
It was discovered in 1938, when the foundation for the "Avala" hotel was being built. It is related to the Illyrian - Greek period. According to certain researches, the necropolis was usable for more than a millennium.
From the 3rd to the 5th century, the deceased were buried in masonry stone tombs, and jewelry, glass objects, weapons, etc. were placed next to them.
Some of the parts were transferred to museums all over the Balkans, in cities like Belgrade, Split, Zagreb, Cetinje.
