One of the things that I like the most about impromptu trips is the possibility of reaching places that we did not even have in mind. What at the beginning had been planned as one night to sleep and rest on our return home, turned into two nights that we took advantage of as much as we could. After having moved more than 1000 km away from the city of Buenos Aires, it was time to return from the province of Córdoba, but not before taking the opportunity to do some extra walk. This is how we discovered the Cabalango Spa and even more: its small waterfall ❤️.
Una de las cosas que más me gusta sobre los viajes improvisados es la posibilidad de llegar a lugares que ni siquiera teníamos en mente. Lo que al inicio se había planteado como una noche para dormir y descansar en nuestro regreso a casa, se transformó en dos noches que aprovechamos lo más que pudimos. Después de habernos alejado más de 1000 km de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, ya era tiempo de volver desde la provincia de Córdoba, pero no sin antes aprovechar para hacer algún paseo extra. Así fue como descubrimos el Balneario Cabalango y más aún: su pequeña cascada ❤️.
What led us to this place was basically Google Maps. My family and I had chosen a campsite to stay near Villa Carlos Paz so we could visit the surroundings in search of new landscapes to see. I think that until now the province that I visited the most was Córdoba, so I have this area quite covered, but there is always something new to do. So, investigating where we could go, we found this place with a river and a calm spa between the rocks 😃.
Lo que nos llevó hasta este lugar fue básicamente Google Maps. Mi familia y yo habíamos elegido un camping para quedarnos cerca de Villa Carlos Paz así que podíamos visitar los alrededores en busca de nuevos paisajes para ver. Creo que hasta ahora la provincia que más visité fue Córdoba, así que tengo esta área bastante cubierta, pero siempre hay algo nuevo para hacer. Entonces, investigando a donde podíamos llegar fue que encontramos este lugar de río y balneario tranquilo entre las rocas 😃.
When I arrived at this place, I had the same sensation of being in the Mina Clavero spas, also in Córdoba, but a few kilometers away from there. My dad and I had been in Mina Clavero just a month before this trip and when I arrived and saw this place with my own eyes, I immediately sent him a photo so he could see the similarity. The most curious thing is that during my trip to Mina Clavero I had no idea that a month later I would be back in Cordoba. Those are the turns of life that I like the most ❤️.
Cuando llegué a este lugar, tuve la misma sensación de estar en los balnearios de Mina Clavero, también en Córdoba, pero unos cuantos kilómetros lejos de ahí. Mi papá y yo habíamos estado en Mina Clavero apenas un mes antes de este viaje y cuando llegué y ví este lugar con mis propios ojos, inmediatamente le mandé una foto para que viera la similitud. Lo más curioso es que durante mi viaje a Mina Clavero no tenía idea de que un mes más tarde volvería a estar en tierras cordobesas. Esas son las vueltas de la vida que más me gustan ❤️.
This spa was very quiet and without a doubt one of its main attractions were its large gray stones. On it you could jump (being very careful) and you could reach the other side of the river. I don't know what this landscape will be like in summer, but in winter it seemed to me that there was little water and that's why we could easily cross. In any case, most of Cordoba's rivers are not that deep, but you probably don't want to get even a bit wet if the weather hits 12°C 😅.
Este balneario era de lo más tranquilo y sin dudas uno de sus principales atractivos eran sus grandes piedras grises. Sobre ella podías saltar (teniendo mucho cuidado) y se podía llegar hasta el otro lado del río. No sé como será este paisaje en verano, pero en invierno me pareció que había poca agua y por eso podíamos cruzar fácilmente. De cualquier forma, la mayoría de los ríos cordobeses no tienen tanta profuncidad, pero seguramente no querrás mojarte ni un poco si el clima marca los 12°C 😅.
What I like most about the typical landscapes of Córdoba is its harmonious combination of green and gray in the landscape. Like the cloudy day that we had when we visited Miramar de Ansenuza, on this walk the sky was also greyish, but this generated a great effect on the environment. Lately I'm becoming a fan of cloudy days: while blue days are beautiful for walking, gray days also have their charm. Which one do you prefer 😃?
Lo que más me gusta de los típicos paisajes de Córdoba es su armoniosa combinación de verde y gris en el paisaje. Al igual que el día nublado que nos tocó cuando visitamos Miramar de Ansenuza, en este paseo el cielo también estuvo grisáceo, pero esto generó un efecto genial en el ambiente. Últimamente me estoy volviendo fan de los días nublados: si bien los días azules son hermosos para pasear, los días grises también tienen su encanto. ¿Ustedes cuál prefieren 😃?
My family and I arrived at this spa around 3PM but we hadn't eaten anything, so after having our lunch in one of the small restaurants in the area, we stayed chatting with the owner. He kindly invited us to tour the spa and recommended a small path on the other side of the river. He gave us precise directions to get to it because it is not marked in any way: apparently, we were chosen to obtain this information and of course we went to see what it was about 😅.
Mi familia y yo llegamos a este balneario alrededor de las 3PM pero no habíamos comido nada, así que después de tener nuestro almuerzo en uno de los pequeños restaurantes de la zona, nos quedamos charlando con el dueño. Este nos invitó amablemente a recorrer el balneario y nos recomendó un pequeño sendero del otro lado del río. Nos dió indicaciones precisas para llegar hasta él porque no está señalizado de ninguna forma: aparentemente, fuimos elegidos para obtener esta información y por supuesto fuimos a ver de qué se trataba 😅.
This trail was actually quite hidden in the trees but it wasn't very long or very difficult terrain. We will have walked about 400 m until we reached what we were supposed to see: a large rocky space with a small waterfall that graced the landscape with natural sound. This little waterfall would be about 4 four meters only, but in the silence of that quiet place it resonated quite loudly ❤️.
Este sendero de verdad estaba bastante oculto entre los árboles pero no era muy extenso ni con un terreno muy complicado. Habremos caminado unos 400 m hasta que llegamos a lo que se suponía que teníamos que ver: un gran espacio rocoso con una pequeña cascada que adornaba el paisaje con sonido natural. Esta cascadita tendría unos 4 cuatro metros nada más, pero entre el silencio de ese lugar tan tranquilo resonaba bastante fuerte ❤️.
Something that caught my attention about this place were its orange stones: many of these stones were stained with this color, apparently with some kind of rare moss. This detail added a bit of color to the landscape and is definitely what made it stand out from the gray spas of Mina Clavero. In fact, I have never seen this orange coloration in some stones before, it was great 😃.
Algo que me llamó la atención sobre este lugar eran sus piedras anaranjadas: muchas de estas piedras estaban manchadas de este color, aparentemente con una especie de musgo raro. Este detalle agregaba un poco de color al paisaje y definitivamente es lo que lo terminó de diferenciar de los balnearios grises de Mina Clavero. De hecho, nunca antes había visto esta coloración naranja en unas piedras, fue genial 😃.
The stones in this part were a little different from the ones we had seen at the entrance to the spa: it can be seen that with the erosion of the river and the waterfall, a few holes had been formed in the ground. In Córdoba it is very common to find this type of pots and they are highly sought after by tourists looking to take a dip. Since rivers are flat, what's better than finding a place where you can dive a little deeper 😃?
Las piedras de esta parte eran un poco diferentes a las que habíamos visto a la entrada del balneario: se ve que con la erosión del río y la cascada se había formado unos cuantos agujeros en el terreno. En Córdoba es muy común encontrar este tipo de ollas y son muy buscadas por los turistas que buscan darse un chapuzón. Como los ríos son planos, ¿qué es mejor que encontrar un lugar en donde puedas sumergirte un poco más 😃?
After having spent a long time walking around the waterfall and its surroundings, it was time to return to the entrance of the spa. This was mainly because it was just me and my cousin walking there and leaving my aunts waiting for us. We didn't want them to worry so we went back to drink mates with them and that great landscape in front of us. I think the common denominator of all walks is that I always want to be walking from here to there: when it comes to being on a trip, I have plenty of energy 😃.
Después de haber estado un buen rato paseando por la cascada y sus alrededores, fue momento de regresar a la entrada del balneario. Esto fue principalmente porque solo fuimos mi primo y yo caminando hasta allá y dejamos a mis tías esperándonos. No queríamos que se preocupen así que volvimos a tomar mates con ellas y ese gran paisaje enfrente. Creo que el denominador común de todos los paseos es que yo siempre quiero estar caminando de acá para allá: cuando se trata de estar de viaje, la energía me sobra 😃.
The Cabalango Spa seemed like a good place to go for an afternoon walk in a place away from the hustle and bustle that the center of the city of Carlos Paz can represent. The good thing is that it is only 10 km from it, so you can get there in a 20-minute drive. That is another of the things that makes the province of Córdoba great: there you can find city and nature together or separately. It really is a tourist destination for all tastes. El Balneario Cabalango me pareció un buen lugar para ir a pasear la tarde en un lugar alejado del bullicio que puede representar el centro de la ciudad de Carlos Paz. Lo bueno es que queda a solo 10 km de ella, por lo que se puede llegar ahí en un viaje de 20 minutos en auto. Esa es otra de las cosas que hacen geniales a la provincia de Córdoba: ahí podes encontrar ciudad y naturaleza juntas o también separadas. Realmente es un destino turísitico para todos los gustos y espero que a ustedes también les haya gustado 😃.
