Every time we go on a trip with my cousin there are some places that we already know we are going to visit. He is one of those people who enjoy returning time and again to the beautiful places they already know because they feel comfortable there, unlike me who always wants to go to a new place to explore. The good thing is that you have visited it or not, a great place remains over time and seeing it again never hurts. This time he took us to one of his favorite places in the Mar del Plata area, Buenos Aires province: Punta Iglesia Beach, attractive because of the waves that break on its rocks 😃.
Cada vez que vamos de viaje con mi primo hay algunos lugares que ya sabemos que vamos a visitar obligatoriamente. Él es de esas personas que disfrutan de regresar una y otra vez a los lugares lindos que ya conocen porque se sienten cómodos en ellos, a diferencia mía que siempre quiero ir a un lugar nuevo a explorar. Lo bueno es que lo haya visitado o no, un lugar genial permanece en el tiempo y verlo de nuevo nunca está de más. Esta vez nos llevó a uno de sus lugares preferidos en el área de Mar del Plata, provincia de Buenos Aires: la Playa Punta Iglesia, atractiva por las olas que rompen en sus rocas 😃.
When this Easter outing came out impromptu, I had no idea we'd end up on the beach again. I had been in this place a month ago with my friends and now I was having the opportunity to go again. Luckily for me and for all of us who decided to travel on the long weekend, the weather was beautiful and sunny, perfect for enjoying outdoors. That's why the day after we arrived at our accommodation, we prepared all our mate equipment and went to have breakfast somewhere great ❤️.
Cuando este paseo de Semana Santa salió improvisadamente, no tenía idea de que terminariamos en la playa nuevamente. Yo había estado en este lugar hacía un mes con mis amigas y ahora estaba teniendo la oportunidad de ir de nuevo. Para mi suerte y la de todos los que decidimos viajar en el fin de semana largo, el clima estaba hermoso y soleado, perfecto para disfrutarlo al aire libre. Fue por eso que al otro día de haber llegado a nuestro alojamiento, preparamos todo nuestro equipo de mate y fuimos a desayunar a algún lugar genial ❤️.
We thought that because it was a long weekend everything was going to be full of people but luckily it was not. Actually, the coast of Mar del Plata, the most important coastal city of Buenos Aires, has more than 40km of beaches where people can choose a place to spend the day. Despite this, the majority of tourists concentrate on the downtown beaches, perhaps out of comfort or without knowing that if they go a few more blocks to the sides they can find other beautiful and less crowded beaches 😅.
Pensamos que por ser fin de semana largo todo iba a estar repleto de gente pero por suerte no fue así. En realidad, la costa de Mar del Plata, la ciudad costera más importante de Buenos Aires, cuenta con más de 40km de playas en donde la gente puede elegir algún lugar para pasar el día. A pesar de esto, la mayoría de los turistas se concentra en las playas del centro, quizás por comodidad o sin saber que si hacen algunas cuadras más hacia los costados pueden encontrar otras playas lindas y menos concurridas 😅.
In particular, this Punta Iglesia beach doesn't go down to the sea since its attraction is the large rocks that produce breakers with the sea. It is easily accessible from the street and is a place to spend the day looking at the landscape and the waves, which as the tide advances, jump higher. You can also see the beach from the street, but the exciting thing is to go down and if you're brave enough, get a little closer to the shore to get wet with some of the drops that get there ❣️.
En particular, esta playa de Punta Iglesia no tiene bajada al mar ya que su atractivo son las grandes rocas que producen rompientes con el mar. Se puede acceder a ella fácilmente desde la calle y es un lugar para pasar el día mirando el paisaje y las olas, que a medida que avanza la marea, saltan más alto. También se puede ver la playa desde la calle, pero lo emocionante es ir a bajo y si sos lo suficientemente valiente, acercarte un poco al orilla para mojarte con algunas de las gotas que llegan hasta ahí ❣️.
Since our idea was not to get wet but to have something for breakfast, we stayed at a considerable distance but still could see and hear the noise of the sea. The city of Mar del Plata is famous for the presence of rocky breakwaters where fishermen can go to hang out, but so can ordinary people. This area is one where you can find giant rocks like these without going too far from the center, and to see a slightly different landscape beyond the typical sandy beach, it's a great option 😄.
Como nuestra idea no era mojarnos sino desayunar algo, nos mantuvimos a una distancia considerable pero que igual se veía y escuchaba el ruido del mar. La ciudad de Mar del Plata es famosa por la presencia de escolleras rocosas en donde los pescadores pueden ir a pasar el rato, pero también lo puede hacer la gente común. Esta área es una en donde podes encontrar rocas gigantes como estas sin alejarte tanto del centro, y para ver un paisaje algo diferente más allá de la típica playa de arena, es una gran opción 😄.
We spent a great morning looking at the cool scenery and gossiping with my aunts. The truth is that the sea has an inexplicable and relaxing force, it always puts us in a good mood. As noon approached, the temperature continued to rise to more than 25°C despite being the middle of autumn: between the heat and the completely clear day, we were grateful to have been able to be there enjoying the unexpected trip ❣️.
Pasamos una gran mañana mirando el paisaje genial y cotilleando con mis tías. La verdad es que el mar tiene una fuerza inexplicable y relajante, siempre nos pone de buen humor. A medida que se fue acercando el mediodía la temperatura siguió subiendo hasta más de 25°C a pesar de ser pleno otoño: entre el calor y el día completamente despejado, agradecimos haber podido estar ahí disfrutando del viaje inesperado ❣️.
