The good thing about having the freedom of being able to take your business anywhere is that travel time is no longer an issue. As long as you can find a comfortable and nice place to stay, be able to walk around and also work, it is enough. And my country Argentina is full of places to be able to do this, so I will always be grateful for having dared to take the big step of leaving my home. Looking for one of those adventures, I arrived to El Bolsón in the province of Río Negro, where at first I didn't know how long I was going to stay, but I never thought it was going to catch me so much 💕.
Lo bueno de contar con la libertad que te da el poder llevar tu actividad económica a cualquier lado es que el tiempo de viaje ya no es un problema. Mientras encuentres un lugar cómodo y lindo donde quedarte, poder pasear y también trabajar es suficiente. Y mi país Argentina está lleno de lugares como para poder hacer esto, por lo que siempre voy a estar agradecida por haberme animado a dar el gran paso de salir de mi casa. Buscando una de esas aventuras fue que llegué hasta El Bolsón en la provincia de Río Negro, en donde al principio no sabía cuánto iba a quedarme, pero nunca pensé que fuera a atraparme tanto 💕.
After having gone through two volunteer experiences, exchanging work for accommodation in San Juan and Ushuaia, finding a third place to stay became quite easy. Experience in these positions is something that new employers value, so it was good to have done it before. When I looked for my next opportunity I had no fixed destination so I asked around, until I heard back from a hostel in El Bolsón, in southern Argentina. To get there I had to fly from Ushuaia-Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires-Bariloche, and then take a bus for almost three hours to get to El Bolsón. A bit of a long trip, but the enthusiasm to get there was stronger 😅.
Después de haber pasado por dos experiencias de voluntariado, intercambiando trabajo por alojamiento en San Juan y en Ushuaia, conseguir un tercer hospedaje se me hizo bastante fácil. La experiencia en estos puestos es algo que valoran los nuevos empleadores, por lo que fue bueno haberlo hecho antes. Cuando busqué mi siguiente oportunidad no tenía ningún destino fijo así que pregunté en todos lados, hasta que me respondieron desde un hostel de El Bolsón, en el sur de Argentina. Para llegar hasta allá tuve que hacer el trayecto Ushuaia-Buenos Aires y Buenos Aires-Bariloche en avión, para después tomar un micro durante casi tres horas hasta llegar a El Bolsón. Un viaje un poco largo, pero el entusiasmo por llegar era más fuerte 😅.
I had already visited El Bolsón two years ago, on a family trip with my cousin and aunts. On that occasion, we only stayed for three days, which were beautiful but not enough to see all the beauty of this place. This time, I was on my own with my backpack and all my desire to trek, so I was ready to see what else I could find. The tourist slogan of El Bolsón is that it is the national capital of mountain refuges, with a total of 13 establishments where you can spend the night. It all sounded like an amusement park, so when the volunteer proposal came up, I didn't even hesitate to go 😃.
Yo ya había visitado El Bolsón hacía dos años atrás, en un viaje familiar con mi primo y mis tías. En esa ocasión, solo nos quedamos tres días que fueron hermosos pero no suficientes para recorrer todo lo hermoso que es este lugar. Esta vez, iba yo sola con mi mochila y todas mis ganas de hacer trekking así que estaba lista para ver con qué más me encontraba. El lema turísitico de El Bolsón es que es la capital nacional de los refugios de montaña, contando con un total de 13 establecimientos donde se puede pasar la noche. Todo esto sonaba como un parque de diversiones, así que cuando surgió la propuesta de voluntariado, ni siquiera dudé en ir 😃.
El Bolsón is about 180 km from the city of Bariloche, probably the best known by foreign tourists. This place is a small town, but with good accessibility to other nearby towns by public transportation. One of them, the closest and easiest to reach is Lago Puelo, since it takes 45 minutes by bus to get there. In El Bolsón you can see beautiful colorful rivers, but if you are interested in seeing a larger body of water, Lago Puelo and its national park is definitely a great option 😃.
El Bolsón se encuentra a unos 180 km de la ciudad de Bariloche, probablemente la más conocida por el turismo extranjero. Este lugar es un pueblo pequeño, pero con bastante accesibilidad hacia otras localidades cercanas en transporte público. Una de ellas, la más cercana y de más fácil acceso es Lago Puelo, ya que con 45 minutos en un colectivo de línea estás ahí. En El Bolsón podés ver hermosos ríos coloridos, pero si te interesa conocer un espejo de agua un poco más grande, definitivamente Lago Puelo y su parque nacional es una gran opción 😃.
El Bolsón and Lago Puelo were the two places where I spent most of my summer. I didn't know how long I was going to stay there, but that undecided stay ended up turning into two and a half months. What I always say is that time flies when you are having fun, and so it was while walking and strolling among these landscapes. Our south is beautiful and it is not surprising that people come from all over the world to visit us, so I am proud of that 💕.
El Bolsón y Lago Puelo fueron las dos localidades en las que pasé casi todo mi verano. No sabía cuanto tiempo me iba a quedar ahí, pero esa estadía indecisa se terminó transformando en dos meses y medio. Lo que siempre digo es que el tiempo vuela cuando uno se divierte, y así fue mientras paseaba y caminaba entre estos paisajes. Nuestro sur es hermoso y no sorprende que vengan de todas partes del mundo a visitarnos así que estoy orgullosa de eso 💕.
I was quite excited about the job-for-housing exchange and was ready to spend the summer in that beautiful town. Especially because there were many, many things to do, also in high summer season when most people are traveling and walking around. To this day, I am very fond of El Bolsón and everything I lived and did there, besides all the new friends I met. I definitely couldn't miss out on this experience, and it's a good thing I took it ❣️.
El tema de intercambiar trabajo por alojamiento me tenía bastante entusiasmada y estaba preparada para pasar el verano en ese pueblo hermoso. Sobre todo porque habían muchas, muchas cosas para hacer, además en temporada alta de verano que es cuando está la mayor cantidad de gente viajando y paseando. Al día de hoy, quedé muy encariñada con El Bolsón y todo lo que viví e hice ahí, además de todos los amigos nuevos que conocí. Definitivamente no podía perderme de esta experiencia, y que bueno que la tomé ❣️.
