A last look at the "Second Lake of Juclar," and then on to the the next destination in the Pyrenees mountains.
This one is about another mountain lake, smaller than the last two, but with a name greater than both.
It's name is Étang de Moulsude, which unless I'm mistaken translates from Catalan to "Pond of Mold," or in other words, Moldy Pond...
What!?! The Moldy Pond! Get the fuck out of here. Whoever came up with that is a genius in my opinion.
So anyway, after leaving the last series of lakes we walked up a fairly large mountain.
Somewhere along the way we crossed the country border into France. We didn't see any signs or markers though, or any sort of indication of country borders.
From there we came to the lake that happened to be anything but Moldy.
It was a little chilly that day but we had great weather overall, with sunshine, blue skies and fluffy white clouds which always make for decent photos.
We stopped at the top of the mountain to view the landscape,
and to take out the drone.
Weeeeeeeeeeeee....
And up it goes.
Here's a shot taken from the drone.
This is another great example of why you should wear bright colors when hiking. If it weren't for my friends neon colored shirt you probably wouldn't even see us in the photo.
I took a few shots from where we were standing while he took a video.
The different lenses on my phone really change the look of the photos as you can see.
Looks like he's finished shooting his video.
I always tried to capture the moment when he snatched the drone out of the air.
From there we headed down and around the pond,
stopping to take a selfie every now and again.
It's like a "Wheres Waldo" book trying to spot me in the pictures. "Try and find Leaky in the photo above."
After switching places we eventually moved around the entire Moldy Pond.
Not a single spot of mold was to be seen.
Though the pink flowers dotting the landscape kind of look like it I suppose.
From there we said goodbye to the pond with the amazing name and continued on down the mountain toward the train station in L'Hospitalet.
