Hallo liebe Community,
am Seine Hafen angekommen kauften wir direkt unsere Tickets für die Bootstour. Hier waren bereits unzählige Ausflugsboote aufgereiht und warteten auf willige Touristen, die Paris von der Seine aus erkunden wollten. Auf uns sozusagen. Nach kurzer Wartezeit konnten wir aufs Schiff und bei dem wunderschönen Wetter mit 30 grad und Sonnenschein suchten wir uns Plätze im freien auf dem Bereich ganz vorne im Boot. Natürlich hatten wir vorher noch dick Sonnencreme aufgetragen um uns vor einem Sonnenbrand zu schützen.
Recht bald begann auch die Tour und wir legten ab. Es ging unter unzähligen traumhaft verzierten Brücken hindurch, die teilweise so niedrig waren, dass man schon fast den Kopf einziehen musste, um nicht oben anzustoßen. Am Ufer lagen zu Restaurants umgebaute Schiffe und Touristen schlenderten auf den Wegen am Ufer der Seine entlang und genossen den Tag. Nach kurzer Strecke sahen wir die Kathedrale Notre Dame, die nach dem Brand vor einigen Jahren zwar schon wieder geöffnet hat und schon zum großen Teil wieder hergestellt ist, jedoch an der an vielen Stellen noch Gerüste stehen und eifrig weiter restauriert wird. Gerade der hintere Bereich ist noch komplett eingerüstet und Kräne stören das schöne Bild der Kathedrale etwas.
Auch das Hotel de Ville, das Rathaus von Paris konnten wir vom Fluß aus sehen. Ebenso wie den lang gezogenen Louvre, das vermutlich bekannteste Museum der Welt. Immer wieder kamen wir auch an kleinen Inseln in der Seine vorbei, unter deren hoch gewachsenen Bäumen Menschen nach Schatten suchten und den Sommer in vollen Zügen genossen. Kurz vor der Wende und Rückkehr zum Ausgangspunkt unserer Tour durften wir nochmals den Eiffelturm aus nächster Nähe bestaunen. Ein prächtiges Schauspiel und nicht weniger sehenswert als am Vorabend von Land aus.
Auf dem Rückweg mussten wir uns auf Grund der Hitze auch einmal in die Passagierkabine zurückziehen, da diese klimatisiert war. Eine wahre Erholung nach der Fahrt in der sengenden Sonne. Gut ausgeruht und abgekühlt kamen wir wieder zurück zu unserem Ausgangspunkt und überlegten, wie es an diesem Tag noch weitergehen sollte. Aber mehr davon in meinem nächsten Post, bleibt dran.

Arriving at the Seine harbor, we immediately bought our tickets for the boat tour. Countless excursion boats were already lined up, waiting for willing tourists who wanted to explore Paris from the Seine. For us, so to speak. After a short wait, we were able to board the boat, and in the beautiful weather with 30 degrees Celsius and sunshine, we found outdoor seats at the very front of the boat. Of course, we had applied a lot of sunscreen beforehand to protect ourselves from sunburn.
The tour began shortly after, and we set off. We passed under countless beautifully decorated bridges, some of which were so low that you almost had to duck your head to avoid hitting the top. Boats converted into restaurants were moored along the banks, and tourists strolled along the paths along the Seine, enjoying the day. After a short walk, we saw Notre Dame Cathedral, which, although it has reopened after the fire a few years ago, has largely been restored, but where scaffolding is still in place in many places and is being diligently restored. The rear area in particular is still completely covered in scaffolding, and cranes somewhat spoil the beautiful view of the cathedral.
We could also see the Hotel de Ville, Paris's town hall, from the river. As well as the elongated Louvre, probably the most famous museum in the world. We repeatedly passed small islands in the Seine, under whose tall trees people sought shade and enjoyed the summer to the fullest. Shortly before turning around and returning to the starting point of our tour, we were once again able to marvel at the Eiffel Tower up close. A magnificent spectacle and no less worth seeing than the previous evening from land.
On the way back, we had to retreat to the passenger cabin due to the heat, as it was air-conditioned. A true respite after the journey in the scorching sun. Well rested and cooled down, we returned to our starting point and considered what to do next for the day. But more about that in my next post, stay tuned.
